Hi everyone,
I had a truly fab meeting today at Nottingham GiC. This was my 3rd and therefore significant meeting and they have signed me up under the NHS for:
Hormone treatment: in my case just estrogen because I've had the orchiectomy in July
Voice training
Electrolysis-laser hair removal
Legal documents for my female passport and application.
& see below re vaginoplasty
Six months after the orchiectomy, so in January, they will be able to refer me for the full vaginoplasty and I've indicated my preference for Dr Phil Thomas. All being well that could mean the surgery as early as next summer. Given my FFS in December in Thailand, followed by electrolysis that works perfectly for me.
My estrogen level, whilst way above male range, is still not quite in female therapeutic so they are nudging my treatment up a notch or two.
I have found Nottingham GiC to be terrific. Actually, I can't fault the NHS at all on this. Okay, perhaps it's odd to require RLE before coming right on the NHS system but I've come to appreciate the point of it. In my case it acted as a spur, an incentive, to stop letting a few things drift: particularly some of the legals.
I walked into the appointment smiling and I think my grin has only grown through the day
