I thought I have seen everything till one day at work a gentleman who I had not seen in four months, has always known me by my old male name ask me where that person was. I couldn't believe my eyes. I didn't know what to do as turn from him snickering so he couldn't see my expressions. He asked if I was his sister! I said no. It made my day because I transitioned at work I thought everyone knew. He wanted that person to help him because he did the best job. What a crazy fun situation that was. I rightly told him I don't know any person named so and so at this work place. I thought I would share this small wonderful story. He never figured it out :).

That is awesome!  Such a precious experience!

One time, I had a sign language interpreter come to a computer class to interpret for me about 16 years ago.  She hadn't seen me for about two years since I was in graduate school.  She didn't know that my name was changed legally.  It took a couple of seconds for it to register that I was the same person that she interpreted for two years before.  She was shocked and laughed without people around us understanding why.  I'll never forget it...
