coming out to friends

how should i go about talking to friends about being trans.as i am starting collage with my preferred name(i am so glad i don't live in a anti lgbt countrie)  i am going to have to tell all my friend i just don't know how to do it. i am just scared i will lose everyone and i will end up with no one

What I've learned is that every friend is different. for some I would probe by asking for their views on queer and trans* people; but one friend who I know is very excepting, I just walked next to her and said, "I'm trans*."  In both cases it has gone well.  So I recommend to always try to make friends with good people, and once you've done that, just trust them with it.  I hope it goes well. That makes sense, it's scary.  The first friend I ever told, I danced around it by talking about trans* and lgbtq issues.  One day I was just barely brave enough to mention wearing makeup and dresses.  So he asked me if I wanted to be a girl.  When I said yes he thought it was kinda cool to know a trans* person and that was it.  I was terrified, but things were fine.  but what really felt amazing was to just blurt it out. If you have the friend you're convinced won't be judgmental, I would recommend that.  [emoji6] You can do it; it'll be nice to have support.

So.. I'm not completely "out" as they would say, but I've come "out" on more than just a few seperate occasions. Hey, some may have involved being drinking  , very drinking indeed, and it just comes up that that is how I feel! (You know how we like to talk about our emotions right?!)  and then more than a few times they've just caught me wearing a dress!  Usually if they're true friends, they'll stick around and maybe become more than friends if you're really freaky naughty.  a good friend of mine told another lesser value friend of mine once I was transsexual and I guess his reaction was one of disbelief. "No way, malename is not transsexual.." I never came "out" to him though. There are friends however that I have shared this with while sober. This release of information was very significant to me because I live a badass sober life now. and they were so supportive that it even made me feel comfortable enough to come out to my stepsister and then eventually to my parents... You really gotta start somewhere if you eventually want to get anywhere at all.  <3
