Ok so I know we cannot discuss dosages but for those of you who are taking 2 Spiro pills a day (I hope it is ok to say it like that) have you tried to take the second one at noon instead of in the evening? I'm currently taking them at 8am and 8 pm and I need to get up at night about 3-4 times to eitherdrink something and/or to empty my blatter.

I'm going to ask my endo about that but I'm wondering what your experiences are in that matter.

Hugs
Jessica

I found that if I take the 2nd dose either 2 hours before bed or minutes before it helps.

2 hours before gives it a full half life and I find I usually start clearing fluids about an hour after each dose.

Taking it right before I sleep seems to counteract the dietetic effect as the ursine production is already slowed for sleep by the time the spiro is metabolized.

As for water intake I tend to push fluids all day and usually stop pushing fluids a few hours before bed. I find that if I taya few sips of water right before I go to sleep it quinces my thirst and I have a glass of water by my head in case I wake up (drink from it and drift off again rather than becoming fully awake to get water in the middle of the night).

I went from taking two every morning to splitting one at about 8 and the other at about 9PM - my bedtime is generally about 10-11. That meant a change from getting up about once per night to twice. That made me go back to once again. My prescriptions says once.

My doctor says it doesn't really matter because of the half-life of the med, but i don't know i may go back to twice.

Decisions, decisions. (or in this indecisions, indecisions)

I take mine with breakfast and with dinner. I've heard the efficacy is better. Regardless, I'm still up peeing several times a night. But I drink water like a fish to flush out the potassium so this may not be a problem for others.

I once read that the half life that affects the testosterone is 11 hours. Rather than the two hours quoted for spiro itself. So yeah. That makes sense

Thats a great thing. I prob need to drink more water, but thus far my potassium levels been ok. I just hate water except when i am working out.
