As the title says this is an extremely embarrassing question (probably extremely silly too) for me to ask but it's been worrying me for some time and having browsed for a few months but never posted I know there are a lot of people who post here who know much more then.

I hit 5 months on HRT (Estradiol/Spiro) a few days ago and as many experience my libido has dropped to mostly nil since the first few weeks but not completely at times and maybe every other week I have urges but here's where my worrying comes in, does reaching orgasm cause the bodies testosterone levels to spike at all? My worry is that at that moment since for cis men it leads to obvious results but for me since next to nothing ever you know what it makes me worry the body is trying to compensate for the lack of nothing and will boost testosterone or counteract the Spiro or something, in my mind anyway. Gosh that was so embarrassing to type and I feel like an idiot for asking such a silly question with a most likely obvious answer so please be gentle! >_<

Hi and Welcome to Susan's

Nothing silly with that question at all and has been asked about maybe a million times, and there is nothing wrong with that!

The answer is no. Having an orgasm will not increase your testosterone levels. Achieving an erection will not increase your T levels, If you can ejaculate, it will not increase your T levels.

Indeed some surgeons recommend that we keep the penile skin well lubricated and stretched to have enough tissue for vaginal grafts if you wish to go that way. Also maintaining an ability to orgasm keeps the 'wiring' hooked up.

So lie back and enjoy yourself in safety!

Yes to all this.

Speaking of which... as I got deeper into transition, what was truly problematic about this was how much it stirred up my dysphoria.
What you look forward to has already come, but you do not recognize it.

Hello! Thank you very much for your reply! I'm known to worry far too much and even little things cause my mind to think the extreme so it's why something small like this made me worry so it's good to hear that none of my worrying is based in reality. Thanks again!

I'm certainly starting to feel this more now and it doesn't help that I still have a long way to go before I'm allowed to start the process for surgery.

It is a nasty double edged sword...I have found the same...I don't seem to have it as often but is is much worse when I do...and many things will stir it along.
