"Myth #2: Wearing a bra can help prevent sagging.
There's no data that shows that certain bras such as push-up bras prevent sagging, or that any particular kind of bra can cause sagging, says Mary Jane Minkin, MD, a clinical professor of obstetrics and gynecology at Yale University School of Medicine."

Quoted from a July 14, 2015 article in Prevention:

http://www.prevention.com/health/sagging-breasts-myths

I've been reading Prevention for a long time and they do have a way of screwing up facts in an article now and then. While the title generalizes, suggesting that wearing a bra cannot prevent sagging, the paragraph below says that there is "no data" that "certain bras such as push-up" bras prevent sagging. That just says there hasn't been enough sanctioned research. It doesn't say that any research has proven that bras do not prevent sagging. Then it suggests that sports bras actually do prevent sagging.

So, a better title for that heading would be "Myth #2: We know that bras cannot prevent sagging".

heh well my nipples kinda are pointy and make my shirt stick out in a awkard way so that when i started wearing them

That would be me as well, tank top or tshirt without a bra is a sure way to get stares, I have very pokie firm nipples and even my spouse says "you can't go out in public like that!"
I absolutely love my bralettes and push-up bras and don't mind wearing one every night and even to bed, they are actually quite comfortable for me.

I do love bralettes!  Sadly, under a polo shirt you can still see the strap in the back.  The only bra I get away with is a calvin klein sports bra that's just a piece of fabric, no padding, and thin fabric even in the straps.

I also love wearing push-up bra's and I find then very comfortable. I wear one must days.  A big secret to bra wearing, if a bra is uncomfortable, it then either damaged or incorrect size. I struggled with bra's then I went for a professional fitting.. and got the right size for me.. now my bras are so comfortable, it almost feels like I am not wearing one.

I don't wear a bra to bed, once by pj's get put on, then the bra comes off.

I am pre hot and wear a bra every day. I find that it help keep the dysphoria down. So, mentally I need it, but physically, it's a long way off.

Same for me, pre-hrt.  I've been wearing a bra or at least camisole everyday for a little over two months now, shortly after realizing that transition was actually possible.

I have a little bit there  (moobs) so I  can make some cleavage with a good push up and accessories.  Nowhere near a physical necessity but even the tiny bit of support from a sport bra is a boost to my female brain.

Also starting to feel naked with out a bra now.

Bras are an instrument of torture. Torture I tell you! I hate the bloody things. I especially hate the way it is impossible to find a bra without either a) padding or b) support.

Support, I can sort of live with although it itches and stings after a long day. Padding... I don't get padding. Most women I know have plenty of breast and there's nothing wrong with their shape. Why is the padding needed? It just serves to hide your natural shape and make everyone look the same.

Lately I can't even find a bikini top without padding. It's awful.

Bras suck. So. Much.

Burn them!  >:-)

I started wearing Sports singlets with built in crop tops as I did a lot of sport back in the day and also weared then daily to flaten my chest before full transition,
But as they got bigger I started getting fitted for bras by professional bra fitters for a proper comfy fit and love then, my fave are tee shirt bars for a nice smooth look under any top and also it evens breast out if they are slightly different sizes,
But having a sports bra or single is a must if doing any vigerous activity to reduce the risk of bounce or tearing of breast tissue even with tiny boobs,,,,,,,,,,
There are so many options out there its just a matter of finding the right ones to suit your body and the activity you do,
Another thing to remember is sizes will vary with different manufactorers and I found it best to try on before buying............

Cheers Tracy

Boy mode? I don't know of such a thing. I've heard of "going commando." Anyways, even without having breasts or being on hrt I wear bras all the time except in bed. Sometimes, I "go commando" around the house, but not often.

You should look at bralettes, no padding or push up to them at all, kind of like training bras for adult girls 😉
I love all my cute lacy bralettes!

Mnyeah, maybe, I haven't tried those before. I've tried sports bras for a while but they never seem to hold things very stable. Thanks for suggesting bralettes.

Anyway I do have the one bra that doesnt' have either support or padding, so they're not literally impossible to find. Just very hard to come by.

There might be some rather unpleasent side effects but I can guarantee you will pass that test! #DoNotTryThisAtHome

This is one of my fave bralettes, just a hint of support and no padding at all, super comfy!

I started wearing one when my wife told me I needed to. She said she could see them through the t-shirt.

You should wear them for comfort or fashion. If you don't feel like you need one... don't worry about it.
