Has anyone been to this clinic for HRT...?

I'm considering going to the Nelson-Tebedo Clinic in Dallas to see about starting HRT, but I'd like to hear from others who have worked with them?
What kind of requirements do they have for beginning hormones?
What kind of costs would an uninsured person be looking at?

Oddly, I was looking back at old topics and clicked on it with a whim that it really could be the same clinic that I went to. It stunned me to see that you did. The topic is so old that I'm not sure if you'll see this response but here goes.

Yes, I went through the N-T clinic in Dallas for the HRT that I've just begun. It can save you a lot of money, but the trade off is the time that you (or at least I) spend on the waiting list. I contacted the clinic last year around the first of June. I was told that the waiting list was about a year. Okay, I thought and said to put me on the list. In about a year and two weeks, they contacted me and said I was at the top of the list and could schedule an appointment at the next available time. The next available time comes only once a month. Since I had moved, it took about six months for me to work out the logistics of a trip back to Dallas. They kept me on the waiting list.

It seems they require a letter of recommendation and some lab work to write a script. Their rep told me that I could go through their therapist for the "letter" on the day of the appointment and  "you'd have to get here earlier, but it won't cost anything." I opted to get a letter from a therapist of my own. I can recommend that person, if you'd like.

They told me I'd need lab results, and the first visit would get me a lab order. I asked them for the tests needed and they gave me a list. I got my MD to issue the lab order.  lol  My MD asked me why I needed an estradiol test.

Since it's first-come first-served, I got there early and waited about 2 hours. I was second on the list. Armed with the "letter" and the lab results, I went to the appointment and left with a script.

All the best,
