Do you think Gigi Gorgeous, Laverne Cox, Janet Mock etc worry cis F or T F

Just wondering whether you think celebs worry much on whether someone sees them as cis female or trans female. I'm just curious because for me personally we'd be a whole lot better off to stop worrying about the frustration about the need to be seen as 100 % cis female. Janet Mock is beautiful and looks no different than any other cis female , but I'm sure her standards are quite different about being viewed as trans as others who worry too much about it.

I really hope they don't.  It means very much to me that they are visible trans* people.  With the upbringing I had, this wonderful group of women are the first time I've ever observed trans* people as normal people; and so reinforcing that it's ok to be whoever I know myself as.  I hate to be responsible for putting them in some box, but knowing that people are trans* and it's not because they have some sexual kink or have made a long serious of bad choices, has probably saved my life.

same thing happened to me when I started transitioning. I looked for a trans site to help in my transition and came upon Susan's. It was like in the movie the wizard of OZ going from black and white film to color. All I previously knew of transgender people were from the street workers along this one street in Chicago.

A big part of their celibrity is comming from this visibility..  I wouldnt care also if i was as rich and known as them.

I don't know them personally, so I don't know how they feel about it. My personal feeling and attitude is that it's ok if people know that I am trans, but they should be able to determine that I am first and foremost a woman, and they should respect me and treat me the same as any other woman.

I agree with archlord.  A lot of their fame and recognition is due to their being openly trans.  If they were just regular cis women, I doubt that they would have the opportunities, wealth, and fame that they have now.

In a way, being openly trans helped their careers.  But I don't think that that would be true for most other trans people.

the thing is that for Janet Mock she didn't need to disclose. She was all ready successful in her field and she had not disclosed well into her career .

I doubt Gigi Gorgeous would have any problem being successful not having disclosed.

Having personal met some of these celebrities (like Laverne Cox) and having done some minor acting myself, right now being known Trans is a plus in the entertainment industry. On Backstage (an online Casting resource) has posts looking for transgender actresses as it's a niche role right now especially with a push for trans actors/actresses to plan trans roles.

I doubt it.  If only because by having an open narrative, it kind of proves that they're happy or comfortable with it.  And for many, I suspect it's not a choice -- especially in the entertainment industry, where so many probably started their careers before transitioning. 

Which does make we wonder about those who enjoyed narrative privacy before stepping into the limelight.

A lot depends, I think, on one's dysphoria and one's personal truth; these are often interconnected.  And when it comes to such interiority, I'm not sure we have a choice in the matter, for emotions are generated prior to conscious thought.
