Hi everyone, following in the footsteps of Rhonda (and copying her post format), I'm going to BA soon to have FFS with Dr. Rossi.

Nov 29 - leave home
Nov 30 - Arrive in BA
Dec 5 - FFS happens!
Dec 19 - return home for the holidays

Everything is paid for and confirmed, and I am stressing the heck out! I feel like I'm resisting a cold and I'm terrified of being sick on the day of surgery   :(

I'll post pictures and stuff, because the past people who went to Dr. Rossi and posted about it were really helpful to me!

My planned procedures

Type III forehead and all that accompanies it
Rhinoplasty
Jaw tapering
Tracheal shave (maybe?)

Here were my "before" pictures, with minimal makeup and my hair drawn back:

And here I am as I more typically look (taken just last week!):

Congrats Corvidia I'm sure you will look amazing, Dr Rossi patients on here all look fabulous.

Here is at the top of my list at the moment mostly because of price but also a strong positive is the high standards of care and quality results he produces based off the reports here.

I haven't been to BA since 2006 but I was there for two months and had an amazing experience in Argentina. Lost all the Spanish I picked up at that point now though :(

Where are you travelling from? North America or Europe?

The reasons you said were also why I chose him!

I've never been to South America or had any surgery at all, and so I'm very anxious (add on to that the fact that I have a slight cold!)

I'm travelling from North America, but the west coast- so it's quite far.

Eek! I'm the same. Never had major surgery and if and when I do get my FFS ill more than likely be travelling solo.

It's worrying but I know from reading many accounts on here that lots of girls have done it so I'm not overly concerned.

In '06 BA was a super safe place and very progressive and culturally diverse. I really wanted to stay!

I wouldn't want to do this alone, I think!

I made it to argentina OK, the travel time took me about 24 hours door to door.  Amanda is great and very helpful, and Buenos aires is very safe feeling and easy to live in.

Today I had my blood tests, x rays, and EKG done. We went to a separate common diagnostic center where they rushed me in and out of small rooms. I'm meeting Dr. Rossi tonight.  What else? ...I got to see my skull x ray which was cool!

Edit: I met dr. rossi. he talked about my photos and my head and stuff, but it was all what I expected! :)

Best of Luck! And you will LOVE Argentina!!!  Take some time to see the city! Me and my spouse learned to dance Tango at this little hole in the wall!

Your FFS journey doesn't stop there.  So make sure you follow the Doc's instruction for after care!

Cheers!

hi everyone - ive had the surgery now. I found it very scary at first, being whisked away from my mother and staring at the ceiling while everyone spoke spanish around me. The team that worked on me was very nice though, and Dr. Rossi seemed very excited to begin. They had to try getting the IV in me like 4 times, which was very painful, but once it was in i just waited a little bit and then - lights out!

When I woke up I threw up blood, and then over the course of several hours I threw up much more blood. I was very nauseous. It was nice having my mom there, and Sophia (the translator) was super great too. I kept having to pee, and they wanted me to do it in a thing in the bed, but I could only do it once I got to the toilet. I guess I am too toilet trained.

I was able to walk a bit even that first night, and I felt pretty alert... but now I'm a swollen mess. I can't wait for this swelling to go down, it drives me crazy.

Here are two pictures - one is of me right after the surgery, and the other one is right now (two days after the surgery, in my airbnb)

Oh, I forgot to update!

So I'm now home in Canada.

The first day, throwing up blood and all, was not my favorite. Apparently my ability to walk around and be lucid was uncommon.

After the first couple days swelling reached it's peak, where my face was blown up like a balloon - but I never had my eyes swell shut like Rhonda did. Around that time, two (cis) lesbian friends from home came and kept me company, playing cards and stuff. I mostly did that, watched netflix, and ate (no problems chewing! but my jaw would get very tired and everything would get stuck in my stitches.)

The first annoying thing I had happening was that whenever I put the compression bandage on, my mouth would fill with gross yellow liquid. This happened less and less, eventually only happening if i rubbed my jaw on purpose. I was spitting it all out because ewwww.
The second annoying thing was that everything got stuck in my stitches in my mouth, and i had no good way of getting them out.
The third annoying thing was the nose bandage. after about a week it started dripping glue randomly, and it would get itchy and intolerable. And then when we took it off - i had a reaction to it! and my skin all flaked off.

Anyway, after around a week I left the apartment to walk. Walking made everything worse, but it wasn't too bad. My bruises disappeared by a week and a half (also unusual, so I hear!).

Ive attached a play by play of my swelling going down, as well as the first before and afters they took (am I allowed to share those?)

Some other details:

I had numbness and paralysis coming out of the surgery, and it's not really gone away yet. I cant move or feel half of my bottom lip, or any of my forehead or the top of my head. I can move one eyebrow though.

I didn't have staples in my head, even though I did the hairline incision. I think it was two long stitches, plus some buried ones in my hair on the sides. It feels very well hidden.

the dissolvable stitches in my mouth were also one long one threaded up and down, and it came loose yesterday so I removed it.

I had type III brow done, and I've seen this on x-rays. They let me keep the x-rays!

The surgeon and the team were very helpful and very nice :)

Finally, I feel like the team did a very good job so far, and I would recommend them to others.

Hey corvidia.
Nice to see you are doing well.

I would have had surgery with Dr.Rossi already if my bank wouldn't have made problems because of a name change. I am looking to get my ffs sometime early 2017 now and I am still considering Rossi as my first option. I am in for all the procedures you went for minus the tracheal shave but plus some chin tapering and a lip lift.
The only thing I am really afraid of is permanent nerve damage especially with the chin reshaping.

Would be nice to hear how your healing is progressing.
You are looking really good already especially the forhead and the nose bridge came out nicely.
  •

corvidia

actually i did get chin/jaw tapering AND a liplift.
My lip/chin area is numb on one side, but it can still feel cold (?) and some types of pain -just not touch. So there are some nerves in there still active. I'll let you know if functioning and feeling starts to come back!

I have already been getting the sudden sharp shooting pains occasionally, especially in my forehead, so nerves might be regrowing.

Hi Corvidia,

Fellow Dr. Rossi Alumi here :) You look really cute, before surgery I might even add! I agree with Blueberry, your forehead and nose bridge look great, as does your chin. Is there still swelling in your forehead and brows? They still look like they're going to fall more. As for your lip and the nerve damage from chin work, Dr. Rossi is usually pretty good with that. After my first surgery with him my lip was a little numb for a month or so and all the feeling came back. The second surgery when he revised the chin was more rough. At first, like you Corvidia, I had the same exact issue, numb on one side but could feel cold. It's been about 4 months and it's gotten better. Not back to normal yet, and I'm afraid it may never be. Could take a while, be patient.

Congrats though. You have somee of the best results from him I've seen :)

Yes, there are several kinds of receptors under the skin, for at least cold, hot, pressure, touch and pain. Some receptors are sensitive to two different kinds of stimuli and there are a number of combinations present.

Hi Ruby! I passed before FFS, but I still had "angles" I didn't like, if you know what I mean. I'm much more confident walking outside without makeup now. My forehead and brow (and chin) are still swollen, like you said. But overall I think it was a really good job.

I'm just flying back to the west coast from my family's house today. It's almost exactly a month after my surgery, and I look good. The numbness and paralysis are largely still there, but I have high hopes for some recovery. Some stitches are starting to show up trying to poke their way out of my forehead, and the hairline ones will be the last ones. The only thing that isn't healed so well is the incisions in my hair to the left and right of my face - I tugged the hair there once and one reopened  :o . And they sometimes still bleed a little or release fluid there....

But no gross fluid in my mouth anymore, and not even that much swelling! And lots of painful little shocks as my face readjusts.
