First post! Woo!

My voice passes decently already (it centers between 180 and 196hz without effort) but I was wondering if VFS is an option to push that centered frequency up?  I want to have a more definitive female vocal range rather than being stuck in the andro zone.  Thanks!

A lot of it depends on what they have to work with and what your doing with your voice now. It's possible your voice may even go higher now taking some things into account. The only way to know for sure though is get a consult with one of the VFS surgeons. Sometimes surgery could raise it but the little you might gain may not be worth it. Hugs

Thank you so much!  I just wanted to make sure that having a voice that sits in the androgyne range isn't a contraindication.  I've already emailed Haben to get his thoughts.

What is your totally relaxed and not trying at all pitch?  However, no matter what you start with it will still go higher...unless you're super tiny I'd not want to get potentially 75Hz up from 190 though.

Totally relaxed not trying - Praat is telling me anywhere between 185 and 195.  I even intentionally let every muscle in my throat relax.

I wouldn't consider voice surgery because your voice is sufficiently high to be feminine. At this point to gain different presentation you need to work on your speech pattern. The following link will will show you where your voice is as far as pitch.
