It may be worth noting that if you're too scared about going into a public makeup salon....it should be relaxing right.  There are trans friendly makeup artists that will bring things to you in the safety and relaxing environment of your home to help choose shades, give advice on technique and show you different looks.  Also, because they are specifically trans friendly they have experience working with traditional trans "difficulties" , whereas typical public salons may not have that type of experience.
