Hi everyone,

I am having bottom surgery with Dr. McGinn on February 7th. Having met her in person, looked at her work online, researched her reputation, and spoken with people who had surgery with her, I feel like she is a competent surgeon who will do a great job. My one concern at the moment is that Dr. McGinn's website is really outdated, and all of the pictures of her results are from 6-8 years ago.

When I look at Dr. Bowers' website, she has a timeline of pictures starting around the same time as the pictures Dr. McGinn's website shows and leading up to this year. Dr. Bowers' website describes in detail how she improved her technique over time, and you can see those improvements clearly in the pictures. Her results today look better than her results from 2008. The pictures on Dr. McGinn's website look the same as the ones from the same time period in Dr. Bower's website, but it's impossible to be sure that her technique has improved as much as Dr. Bowers' technique has because there are no recent pictures.

Having met Dr. McGinn in person, she strikes me as a competitive, perfectionistic, and professional surgeon who takes her work seriously. I am pretty sure that based on that, she at least has kept up with Dr. Bowers, but it's hard to be completely sure. I have called Dr. McGinn's office to ask if there are any more recent pictures I could see of her work, and they said no.

I'm wondering if anyone here can tell me whether Dr. McGinn has kept up with Dr. Bowers in terms of improvements in technique. I'm feeling pretty confident in Dr. McGinn either way, but as my surgery approaches, it would be nice to be sure that I am getting a good outcome.

Dr. McGinn studied under Dr. Bowers.

I had a graph without penile inversion. The donor was my scrotum and there was not much material there. I have a BMI of 23 so I am not overweight. I have typical female fat deposits in my groin ( I am intersexed). Fat is not great for blood flow and healing. The 1st procedure after GCS was to open the top of my VJ and create the labia majora (lots of stiches). The second procedure was to open the bottom of my VJ. The third procedure will be to create a clitoral hood. My glands penis was used in entirety. The area around my clitoris is very very sensitive and I have sensitivity on my clitoris.

I had the GCS and two office procedures with a third in 5 months. I was not the typical GCS but my VJ is looking pretty good for my stage post op.
