First time going out. I have the same look as the avatar but with pigtails haha.

Several people didn't recognise me and the note taker thought I was my sister before I spoke up. I walked right past my teacher in the lunch area and nothing, she only recognized me because I was in my work cubicle.

I had a dude do double take as I used the male toilet this time, as there's no danger in college.

And the bus driver no longer said "mate" when addressing me.

I can't go everyday like this as I only have the one outfit so far and art college can get messy, but I'm glad I did it. I feel less anxious in full regalia than I did when I just got my ears pierced. Once the first time is out the way, there's no barriers anymore. Free at last. And I feel that gender euphoria.  ;D

Go to a thrift store and pick up some inexpensive clothing items for wearing at messy times. I've always loved thrift stores anyway because of great variety of items that turn up in them. You may have to make half a dozen trips before finding something really great, but I've done it lots of times.

This is how I went;

It ended up raining which ruined my shoes, which had no waterproof ability whatsoever. i couldn't find my femme t shirt so i kept the coat on all day, perfect for the outside, boiling hot with the colleges heating. ultimately I learned alot today for sure. i got alot of praise from cis women about how i didn't go overboard with the make up. I told the support worker there about my gender dysphoria. The librarian asked and I was upfront about it. No one else did ask though. Most thought i was just doing it for the reaction and i played along with that as I'm not going to college for much longer. im betting most of em know the deal

You look terrific.

Now that that's out of the way I can tell you that I work at a college.  Not art school or anything like that, just your standard four year liberal arts institution.  Female students outnumber male students and there is a large population of African-American students.  Some of them are so pretty that they look like they could have walked out of a magazine.  You'd fit right in, provided you could get some jeans with holes in and hoodies.

You've gotten some good advice from Lyric.  This is how I've built up my wardrobe, and not just for messy times.  You can get some nice stuff if you're lucky.  (I got a pair of Ferragamo shoes (!) for $30).  You have to be a little patient to find your size, but it's worth it.  They'll let you try things on.  Or they'll let me try things on and if they let me, they'll certainly let you!

Good luck in art school.

Got a new qualification  today.

Of course I need lots of practice still but now I'll be practicing the right way. Some serious progress to close out 2016.  :-*

Thanks!  ;) My grandmother was surprised when I came home but she already knew so that was fine. My mother knows (wasn't addressing her though, was in the room when I told my social worker when I had to justify asking for a female one). However my brothers and sisters don't as I don't require anything from them. In 2017 my gender clinic letter will arrive at last. New years resolution: I'm no longer going to self hate and deny to myself: I AM A WOMAN!
