It's too soon to judge trump. I think he wants to get America back into profit. Other than that, anything good for business will get the thumbs up. In business you just don't turn people away because of gender, gender expression, color, race, creed, sexual orientation etc. money is money.

There's been some things on the news on tv recently about false news articles on facebook being prominent. People are believing them and being misinformed about what's really happening. They proved that many articles that were supposed to be American were actually written by shady people somewhere in South America. As many people in this forum have already said they have to sell news and promote their ideologies.Because this is election year there will be more propaganda. You have to remember that not all news is based on fact. A lot of the journalists personal opinions go into these articles. There's a lot of propaganda out there. Some articles I just can't read.

There are other articles about false news if you google it.

Yeah, the problems with Trump would start if he actually does the things he's promised, things he may only have said to galvanize his target audience.

If he really starts removing legal protections from LGBTQ people, making Muslims register, building walls, and deporting people there is going to be trouble.

On the other hand, Trump seems enamored with Putin and President Putin has banned GMOs and condemned the USA for filling their food supply with toxic food, pesticides, and requiring dangerous mercury-laced vaccinations, so maybe he'll actually influence Trump for some good.

My concern when I posted this was not about bad news in general - though there is enough of that - but about bad news that is specifically trans-related.  I suppose that there have always been haters and that the news media just report stories about trans-related incidents more often now because of increased awareness, both among the reporters and among the general population.

But I can't help wondering how much of the increase in anti-trans news stories is the result of an actual increase in hate as a backlash to the increased awareness.  Certainly, legislators didn't always pass anti-trans legislation.  That is a new and real thing.

I suppose my dysphoria over the news is a projection of my fears about coming out.  When the time comes, people will react however they will react, and it is out of my control.  But my confidence that they will likely react well enough is eroding.

Simply because there will no longer be a pro LGBT bully in the White House? I fail to see what a yet untested Trump has to do with any of this outside of a promised return to some degree of 'prosperity & normalcy' ?

I find some comments on the NATGEO article webpages very balanced and fair: the apparent anomalies of less than 1 percent of the population does NOT make for a "Gender Revolution"! The 'media' is simply capitalizing again.

Quote from: nationalgeographic.com/magazine/2017/01/how-science-helps-us-understand-gender-identity/"A recent survey of a thousand millennials found that half of them think gender is a spectrum."

"The vast majority of people—more than 99 percent, it seems safe to say—put themselves at one end of the gender spectrum or the other."

This so-called revolution is caused by the advocacy of the GLBTQs through the Medía. Does anyone see the dichotomy in the two quotes above? How can over 99% of the world allow the rest to form some kind of "Gender Revolution"? I will answer: by sitting back and letting them do it: by letting them create the forum for discussion, the demand that the dialogue be limited to their "evidence", their world view creation.

Any and all increased awareness and discussion is GREAT we need to count our blessings and move ON!
"But it's no use now," thought poor Alice, "to pretend be two people!
"Why, there's hardly enough of me left to make one respectable person!"

Increased awareness and discussion is not a blessing when much of that increased discussion consists of calling us mentally ill with a political party coming into power that has openly stated time and again that it intends to deny us equal protection under the law by legally protecting those that would discriminate for religious reasons.

I'm curious how old you are.  When I was growing up men were arrested, thrown in jail, prosecuted, convicted and jailed.  A permanent record of their crime on file with the police as being a sexual deviant.  Why? For the crime of wearing a skirt in public.  That was from the official Government.   "Street justice" was violence against us and was quite common and considered "getting what we deserve."   Forget about going to school as yourself.  You would be asking for a beating and you would get it while the teachers looked on.  Again, just getting what you deserved and being taught how not to be a sissy.  Living in this day and age and being able to express my gender identity as freely as I can?  That to me is revolutionary.  It is a revolution that I live. Every day.

LGBT Bully is a 'dog whistle' phrase courtesy of the Heritage Institute, the Daily Signal, and others in that particular line. Some of their authors have been using it to push back against things like the anti-bullying initiatives, and the supposed infringement of religious rights that granting legal protection to LGBT persons is seen as by some parties.

Persons promoting the equal treatment of LGBT folks are referred to as the LGBT bully community in their publications.

Disclaimer:  I am an activist.  I don't think I should have to go back into hiding because others are uncomfortable with me.  I believe that others should not have the right to throw me onto the street, refuse me food or access to a safe bathroom, abuse me, or kill me.  I believe I have a right to exist and be treated as any other human being.  To some people, this makes me a LGBT bully.
