'(Washington) A record number of LGBT candidates sought office in Tuesday's off-year election.
Of the record 71 candidates endorsed by the gay and lesbian Victory Fund in 2007, at least 31 won their races on Tuesday, while 10 were elected earlier this year. At least 3 more endorsed canadidates received enough votes to advance to runoff elections.'
