I dilated for 6 months after surgery (13 years ago now) and due to the immense pain I gave up on it. The pain was just too much, plus the whole bother and mess and endless infection I kept getting.
It was all a bit ridiculous really, and such a regime that you have to adhere to for the rest of your life is crazy to my mind. I wish someone clever would come up with a better way to get SRS without having such a massive downside to it.
All that happened is that I lost all my depth and width and now cannot have penetrative sex. Nothing else bad happened.
Of course I now have a male partner and bitterly regret giving up, but we make our own decisions and we have to live by them.
