I am enrolled in a course through ICSLearn.ca the dress making and design course. the price is very reasonable, i will learn to sew womens wear and when 90% of the like 1100$ course is paid for(60$ a month, 50$ down payment i did) i get a good sewing machine.

You can do it online, or, as you do exams(by phone or online) you get new materials, and it doesnt matter if you paid for the next month or not. so usually you always have materials, and can work ahead. Even if you dont have hardcopies, PDFs are available when you login.

If you want to make corsets, check out corsetmaking.com I ordered the book the basics of corset building, and it is good, but i am not sure if it will take me all the way once i am a competent sewer and acquire the tools.

Im sure i will be able to use the book i ordered from marywalesloomis.com to make shoes for myself, other women, and the community. Check out her site! ill tell you guys when i get the book and how it is.

I also ordered, for when i get advanced(precision) sewing skills, a book that cost 100$ (well shipping is in that price, there is a cheapper cd)
Guess what the book is about from their site http://www.bramakersmanual.com/

Thats the basis of my sewing career. Any others out there?

too scared to, I am awful with my hands. Though my dad once made a velvet suit....maybe I could coax him back into the game of things.

oh, i do a lot of diy, but i don't swe, i mainly buy something, then cut it up the way i like and tie ribbons on it, suppose that counts, but nowhere near as professional as your work sounds!

I have a few sewing posts here somewhere of a few hobby projects I did last few years.

I haven't tried to sew any bra's yet, though the corset I started did not turn out as planned. Very difficult.
