Hi!

I'm a 21 yo MTF girl and recently I started to consider the fact that I might be asexual. It is weird though.

I kinda enjoy masturbating, I enjoy watching porn and I do get aroused, I like foreplay to some extent but I get bored so quickly and when it comes to penetrative sex I don't like it. I like to seduce and feel desired sexually but sex is just boring and overrated to me. It's weird because I like fantasising about it but when it comes to having sex it's like "meh"... I'd rather do something else. Like drinking hot chocolate. Cooking. Watching a movie. Listening to music...
Am I asexual or am I just weird?

You sound like you could be (I'm demisexual). Asexual just means you don't experience sexual attraction; either not at all or there has to be a strong emotional bond formed first. Some asexuals like masturbating and watching porn and some like to do some sex stuff as well. Being asexual has no bearing on how high or low your libido is.

There's a Tumblr blog called Just Ace It which I've found very informative and helpful.

Quite true.

I'm asexual most of the time, not being attracted sexually to either, or any gender.
Yet it's possible for me to experience sexual attraction if someone courts me exclusively for over a year (demisexual). But just for that one person.

My libido is VERY high, much higher than men's apparently, yet has nothing to do with any particular person or gender. Also, I can take sex or leave it, even when it comes to masturbation.

With the right person, I am kinky, role-switching, and creative, and there's no end to my stamina. I simply pace myself to match my partner. But if the partner isn't around, I don't even think of sex.

Desire vanishes without a trace. I see people as people. Even if I'm not taking derris scandens (which blends my male and female genders) and my predatory male side asserts himself, I might spin my head to ogle a beautiful girl, but don't think about anything further.

I identify as asexual. Masturbation is fine and porn is okay, but I'm disinterested in anything involving a partner. I'm open to affection and intimacy, but draw the line at sex. It's gross and boring to me.

So, you could be.

I think I am also Demisexual however I have never been in enough of a relationship to be sure. Asexuality is relatively rare but we are out there. One other thing you should consider is your current plumbing may make you uncomfortable with sex. It's possible with the correct plumbing in place you might be more comfortable with sex. In either case, this link is a pretty good resource for somebody looking into their asexual nature.

Well, if you enjoy masturbating, etc. you're not asexual, which means not having sexual feelings at all. And you're no more "weird" than everybody else in the whole world. You're just distinctive in your own special way.

If this concerns you, you might want to talk to a professional therapist or your physician about it sometime. A doctor could check to see if you have any health issues that might be affecting your sexual desire. It would be best to start with that. A therapist could help you discover if you have some psychological issue that's affecting your desires.

Beyond that, it's just a matter of whether you are happy or not. Everyone is has their own way of experiencing the world.

Have read of this article, I found it interesting...

I would very much like to have an intimate partner/companion to love but I'm not that interested in having sex for sex having's sake.

It's a common misconception that if you enjoy masturbating you're not asexual. Being ace means you don't experience sexual attraction to another person with no exceptions or unless a strong emotional bond is formed with another person. It doesn't mean you don't necessarily not have a libido.

Yes. I've only met a small percentage of asexual people who have no libido whatsoever.

You're right..being asexual has to do with sexual attraction, not libido.

In fact, many asexuals have an unusually high libido..it's just not connected to any gender or person in particular.

In my case, porn does nothing for me, except for gay porn, which I only see as "romantic," being partially transmale and married to an "apparent" male before (he has since come out as non-binary female).

But other asexuals find pleasure in porn.

My theory is that mixed gender people have had their prenatal brains initialized with both male and female hormones (studies show that most male traits stay on the right hemisphere, female on the left), so opposite sexual attractions can cancel each other. For instance, I'll start to have feelings of sexual attraction for a female, quickly followed by revulsion, so I'm guessing my female side shuts it down. If I were to start taking T, my female side would be overwhelmed, most likely leading to sexual attraction only to women.

When I self-stimulate, I think only in vague gender terms, and can have orgasms from the perspective of either male or female or both at the same time. Strangely, when imagining myself as male, I have quick, explosive, almost violent male-type orgasms, and when I see myself as female, the orgasm is long, slow, builds, then continues for half a minute or more.
But when I imagine myself two people at the same time, male and female, I experience both orgasms at the same time, which can be almost overwhelming.

But strangely, I don't seek this experience, being very "meh" about self-stimulation.
