Passing tips + Clothing advice for tiny trans man?

I'm pretty small–5' and 80 lbs. Obviously men's clothing would look ridiculous on me and I honestly look like a little kid. People often assume I'm around 12-13 despite being 18. I haven't come out yet so I'm still regarded as a female and even then people still think I'm way younger than I am. I want to start appearing more masculine as soon as possible but I need some tips on how to pass as well as some advice about the clothing situation.
Is there anywhere online I can find clothing meant for short men that isn't too expensive?

Maybe try stores with Asian and European designers. They tend to run small and slim. So H&M, Uniqlo, Primark. To save money you could look at the young men's section. Or even larger youth sizes. You're saving a fortune in men's shoes if you do that.

In terms of "passing" that's hard to address because masculinity is defined differently to different people. What's your overall style? When you think of men's fashion what's the most attractive to you? Start small (excuse the pun). Start adding a pair of jeans here and a tee shirt there. Basic stuff first.

Thing is you can find "men" clothes in retail stores if you look in the teen boys section, just make sure its something nice and mature, they do actually make nice button ups, jeans, dress pants, and shirts for adolescent males. I usually just wear t shirts and jeans and since they make that for all ages Im fine, when I want to dress nice I find plenty of good polos and button ups that fit me.

Its a little weird buying boy's clothes for males younger than you are but given you are the size of one it works anyways

I'm in your exact situation. Just that I am 17. Even as a female everyone tends to think I'm 12 or so.

I'm not out neither, but well, I kind of pass (although my parents usually screw it) so I have no problems at all when I go to the men's section (well, youth section). I recently got a button up that's pretty good. The only thing that I must say is that when I asked for the fitting room the woman treated me like a ten years old, she even asked for my family. xD The good thing is that she leaded me to the men fitting room. I was so happy. xD

Don't be scared of the youth section, there are good things there aand they're usually cheaper, so it's a good point. It's better to use something that fits you rather than something from the men section that will make you look like a kid wearing his father's clothes (or worse, like a girlfriend wearing his boyfriend's clothes).

For the passing thing, well... Just act your age, maybe be a little bit serious. Talk properly, that helps (although I get a lot of anxiety when socializating so my voice tends to get higher and I use to slutter and that doesn't help me). The hard thing is passing as the age, at least in my case. It doesn't bothers me that much 'cause I'm used to being "adorable", but that's just my case. Try to keep your voice low and don't look like if you were looking for your mother or something. xD Be confident about yourself. And I, personally, would recomend to use dark colors in general, I don't know, I find them better for passing and they're not childish.

Uniqlo and H&M have good smaller sizes for men.

I think it really depends what kind of clothing items you're looking for though. You might have good luck with casual stuff shopping in the boy's section. My shoulders are too big now for boy's clothes

I use online shop Asos; which allows you to buy clothes from many different stores and they do smaller sizes.

also because you appear young, try not to dress in things that help that perception. things like hoodies, oversized things, etc. definitely make people look younger if they do not have the face + height. my brother is about your height + weight and he gets his clothes at old navy where the boys section runs as big as a size 18 for pants and men's there run as low as a size 28w.

I recommend Asian stores, you could maybe even go with S instead of XS if you do. I am 5'4, 110lbs and live in Europe, and even for me it's really difficult to find clothes here that fit. Not to mention shoes. Why mention. You could check out korean fashion and see if you like it. There are plenty of Asian stores out there, so if you can buy stuff online, that's my advice.

A fun thing to think about when buying clothes is pattern and colors. For example, a shirt with an inverted triangular pattern can make the body look more masculine. Also, in general, bright colors make things appear larger and dark colors make things appear smaller. Therefore, picking a shirt that is bright around the shoulders, or pants that are dark on the sides of the hip could help as well. I would say that dark pants and somewhat brighter shirts tend to look more masculine, at least when it comes down to shape. You can also try to pick shirts with a thicker material, for chest coverup.

I don't know about any stores but you can get something online, i wear random shirts with plain colors
and going a size over isn't too bad sometimes it helps you could try that.
