Is this safe place to talk ?

Hi everyone my name is rose
I'm Mtf from Saudi Arabia
We don't have websites like the Susan's place in Arabic to talk about ts topics (because it forbidden by the Islamic law)
I'm happy to found this website so I can discuss and talk freely
But I'm very scared that my government know about me being trans this will send me to death
I want to know how safe this website is
Do I need to remove my pic from the avatar to be anonymous or it still put me in danger

They raise the punishment of LGBT who appear in social media to death

I don't want to die or put my self in danger but still I don't want to be blindness about the important topic related to my situation as trans 🙁

I have friends in Saudi and they say most attention is paid on social media to things written in Arabic, but that doesn't mean there might not be someone from the government reading English sites. Definitely don't put up any images of yourself on the public board, would be my advice.

Actually I'm surprised you could get on here. I'd have thought a site like this would be blocked there.

Using a virtual private network might be a good idea; otherwise your internet communications are available on local servers, unencrypted (or so I understand - I am no expert).

Even better, access the site via a highly secure, distributed routing browser such as Tor:

https://www.torproject.org/

This will make it less likely your activity on the site would be traceable to a given IP address such as your home or work, leading to discovery of your activity on a site not viewed favorably by local officials.

Also...

Other than potential for discovery of the activity on the site, something use of Tor should prevent, this is a very safe place.   Trolls free; you will be welcomed by psychologically healthy, intelligent, insightful people eager to help.  It's like joining a very large family for the most part.

Speak freely.  As long as you are respectful and earnest, you will be received with warmth and grace here.  No thought police, no political correctness trolls in my experience.   We collectively bring some  of our deepest concerns here for discussion and the helpful insights from other members as well as discuss some fun, sometime more frivolous things.  It's a pleasant mix.

There really no such thing as secure. However, your best bet is as Steph said, using Tor. It works by relaying your encrypted traffic anonymously through other users' nodes/ relays. Tor is free to use and run.

HI welcome to Susans. as has been said this is safe place for you to talk learn and meet others. I also suggest you use a vpn or TOR to protect your activities from monitoring that is currently in place or that may happen if the future. and of course don't post any information that could be used to identify you for the same reasons..

Also if you are technically inclined you could consider using a Linux distribution such as Tails. This had Tor built in, and can be used to not have data stored on your hard drive.  You can use a cd/DVD or use a USB thumb drive that you can hide/destroy if need be.

I believe the site is also hosted out of Susan's home, so gaining physical access through legal means would be difficult.
