Possible stupid question

Hi
I've got an appointment with my endo. in a few weeks, to discuss the possibility of starting me on a low dose of HRT. I've also made enquiries about LHR and electrolysis. Earlier today I was almost paralyzed by fear that my future transition will turn out too good and that I will end up looking like a very attractive woman. I don't mind looking like a freak since I've always felt like one, but the other possibility frightens me. Is this normal? Or do others have the same fear?

I'm not certain that many have had the thought that transition would turn out too good. The only thought that kind of wierds me out is the idea that guys might look at me the way they do women in general. Passing anonymously through society is my goal. Just to be me. But I can't help but want to change things to make me feel pretty. That is just part of being a woman.

Even if transition treats you wonderfully you can always be a freak. That doesn't have to be your outside look to be you.

Hormone Therapy is a very slow process.  If you like it then continue, and if you start to see changes you dont like... stop or reduce the doseage.  Many of the effects from Hormone Therapy will reverse themselves if you decide to discontinue.  Under the supervision of a medical doctor, there's very little risk to trying it out and see if its what you need in your life.  I wouldnt worry too much about Laser Hair Removal or Electrolysis either.  Unless you have hopes of going full on Grizzly Adams some day.  I had several men in my units in the military that underwent Laser Hair Removal so that they didn't have to deal with shaving every day.  Not a big deal.

You're right, I've got plenty of time to overcome any fears that I might have. Transition is a very slow and gradual process. Let's hope that I don't suddenly grow 38D breasts after only six months on HRT.

Dani, that would only happen if you started with 38Cs.   

The effect of HRT on the mind is the only thing that happens in the first months, and most of us have found that to be wonderful.  As Harlie says, it's a very slow process, and one can work with their doctor to control the results to some extent.

I would not worry about that. Perfection almost never occurs. If it does take advantage of it.

It also depends on your age.  If you are pre puberty the results are more pronounced.

Plus, if you DO turn out to have the genes and build to be an amazingly beautiful woman that gets drooled after, you can always wear frumpy clothes and the like and completely turn off the beauty that way. Cis women do that all the time.
