Trip to Hollywood and San Francisco

Over the next week or so, I'm going to be in Hollywood (Thursday evening and Friday) and San Francisco (Friday evening through Tuesday morning). I'm hoping to spend my time there dressed up (I'm still part-time at home), and I was wondering if anyone has advice about places I should avoid (on the negative side), or things to do and places to go (on the positive side).

My hotel in Hollywood is apparently on the Walk of Fame, a few blocks from "Village at Ed Gould Plaza."

In San Francisco I'll be staying with a friend deep in SOMA, and walking up to Union Square for a consultation. I lived in San Francisco before, but that was before I came out and started transitioning. As a result, I'm not so sure how things are for trans people in some neighborhoods, especially the ones that have developed over the past ten years.

I look okay in a dress, but I'm a disaster with make-up, so I can be read as trans from a mile away.
