As a 55 year old man I developed low T, 187/2.8 free/direct. I've been taking hormone shots to boost my energy and metabolism again. If I decide to transition will estrogen replace that energy boost as well as work it's magic in the other obvious desired areas?

Of course I'll discuss all this with the appropriate medical doctors but I just though someone might have some first hand experience. It was even suggested to me , because of my hesitancy to transition, that just using HRT as opposed to full surgical transformation may help alleviate my dysphoria ( for lack of a better word).

Any help is much appreciated.

Hope

If you're trans and change over to estrogen you won't believe how good you'll feel. It's also still possible to supplement with testesterone but the usual problem is suppressing it.

Dysphoria is likely the exact word to describe what you are describing, Scoot..

When our bodies lack sex hormones, we lose energy and our cells lose steam. Hormones impact almost everything in our bodies directly or indirectly, and a lack of either or both has negative health consequences globally, not just on the cellular level..

While I lost a ton of muscle and strength, I have more than made up for both with renewed attitude, joy of life, and a clear path to happiness in the future..

A gender therapist and an experienced trans-savvy endocrinologist form the basis of a well-informed, well-balanced journey forward. A sympathetic general practice doctor is the foundation of good overall health, but the other two specialists are the ones that will take you where ever you really need to go..

Good luck, girlfriend, you are on your way...

The difference when I'm taking testosterone. Is amazing. It really helps with the physical aspect but the mental one, eh, not so much lol. I just wondered if being on the estrogen alone would keep me moving. I got so tired and weak before.

Thanks! You speak so beautifully to these issues. It gives me more confidence to open up and share. I even changed my screen name to Hope. The one I use to reference the woman inside me. I've read your encouraging words to others as well. You truly are a beautiful soul.

I think it's extremely likely that it would help with energy, it's how women function. However even women need some testesterone, hence they occasionally use a supplement.
