Should I be trying to gain weight?

I'm starting my fourth week of my introductory dose of finasteride, estradiol, and spironolactone. I have started to feel some mental changes just today like how a news article will make me just a little more emotional than it would have before.
I have also started to see the pores on my face shrink, but I have not felt my skin become any softer. I also have not seen any facial changes yet either.

I currently burn about 1000 more calories than I take in, so if I want to see more fat redistribution should I be eating more?

Yes.  If your calories are accurate you will continue to lose fat instead of redistributing it.  However, what you should really do is aim to have a healthy weight, regardless of redistribution.  So, depending on what you weigh now you may need to eat more or less.

When I started HRT I was in the mid 200s, and muscular, and overweight. Muscle began melting off of me very early on, and so did the fat. I dieted intensely, giving up sodas and sugar and high-carb stuff, eating mostly vegies and meats/seafood/fish in a sorta paleo diet thing. About a year in, my belly fat was gone, and so were my love handles, but my boobs had also lost some plumpiness, and my face was thinning again, too.

So, I decided at that point to try to gain weight, as long as it went where it should on a woman, and not back onto my belly and sides. I increased my healthy fat intake, resumed eating multi-grain breads and cereals, and added dairy back into my diet, also.

That did work, and I was up to a small C cup again. But as even more muscle melted off, and I came to realize that my bones and body shape were that of a tall skinny woman, not a shapely, curvy girl like the Kardashians, lol. So, I then decided to just be as healthy as I could be instead of trying to be that which I could not. I am now in the mid 100s, having lost about 90 lbs since the start of my journey, with a BMI of almost exactly 20. But my boobs have shrunk down to small B's, maybe even smaller, and my butt is almost gone, too. This is how my sisters are shaped, and how my mother was, too, no butt, no hips, just a beanpole look, sooo I feel I have that at this point, I have arrived at my full genetic potential.

Buuut, my shoulders were widened by T, so I think it in my best interest to have breast and hip and butt implants at some point, though I hate the idea of cutting up my boobs, especially, I like them as they are, and I usually wear padded bras to make up for what I lack proportionally, and I choose clothing that enhances my silhouette, and give me the desired hourglass look. Still, that doesn't work with a bikini, and I am a beach bunny by nature, sooo, yeah, someday after my face is remodeled, there will be implants top and bottom..

Sorry to ramble, but the whole 'body image' thing is pretty involved, and HRT might just be the first step of many along the way..

Some girls get all they need shape-wise from HRT and exercise, but I was not one of them..

Hope this helps...

Though I have always believed that health and fitness are the best practices for shaping the figure of your dreams, I have not yet been able to sustain the efforts needed to realize this dream.  True, HRT will have positive effects in this area, and have since I began hormones about 4 years ago.

Prior to reaching 30 (many years ago), I always had a very slim figure in the mid-100's, now I am cresting just over 220, most in the middle area.  Many, many times I worked my butt off and was able to get in the high 180's.

So I have personally seen how HRT along with a physical fitness plan and diet can work together to provide amazing results.  It comes down what you are truly willing to do and how strong is the motivation to achieve it.

However, eating to gain weight is a bit of a slippery slope; trust me on this.

Thanks for all the advice. But my main concern is that of my face? I'm okay with not having too womanly of a figure. Will gaining weight help the fat redistribution on my face?
I weigh just under 112 lbs and am extremely skinny. My face also does not have a lot of fat on it. I basically have very little fat on my entire body so I'm just worried that HRT won't actually do anything physically for me.

Without a height, a weight doesn't tell us much. I am 6'2" and at 203 pounds I was told I needed to gain weight. I am now and 170 pounds and have been told not to lose any more because I look good. What's the difference? About a year back on HRT. If you are in the healthy weight range HRT will pull fat into your facial area. It may not be a huge amount of change but it makes a difference.
