I've been on Zoloft (an antidepressant) since August 2016 and it significantly helped with my depression and anxiety issues. I felt like I was finally back on my feet & gained my sense of humor, wit, and pursuit of happiness back. On december 2016, I recieved my first 3 month lupron injection & a weekly estrodial patch. Initially I noticed the decrease in libido, energy, and a few mood swings but now I'm starting to notice in increase in anxiety, depression, and hopelessness. Right now I'm hoping its a worthy compromise for less body hair, a more feminine appearance etc. but I'm not sure how much more I can handle. Has anyone else had a similar experience with Lupron Depot? Should I ask my psychiatrist if I should switch to spiro after my t-levels are at zero? I also feel much slower, and my brain feels very foggy. I'm starting a new semester & I feel like this is affecting my social life.

Welcome to Susan's Place. Google is your friend and I did a little search on Lupron. Yes it can cause depression along with a pile of other issues. You should discuss this with the doctor who is prescribing it as soon as possible and talk about removing it from your mix. Don't stop it until you talk with the doctor as some medication have serious side effects if they are suddenly stopped. As for what you should use, that depends on the country you live in, what medications you already take and your physical condition. That is best determined by a doctor who has your full medical history.

These symptoms may be a result of too little estrogen because you need to replace the lost testosterone with ENOUGH estrogen to feel good. You need to address these concerns to your doctor.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience
