I live in Central MA, and have been browsing every so often for events and community gatherings of Trans people.  A few days ago, I cam across an annual conference held about 20 mins from me!  I don't know how I missed this, and wish I'd been able to get work off.  But I'm going to their dance party Friday night and then to a few seminars Saturday morning/afternoon.  This will be my first time in an environment with other Trans people, and I gotta say I'm nervous.  Not that I think I'll be judged or questioned, but simply because I've never done this before.  There are a few seminars I'm super excited to sit in on, and they even have a clothing boutique!

Then on Saturday night, I'm going to dinner with family for my birthday.  They know I'm going as Victoria, and I'm ready to introduce them to her.

If this month is any indication of what's to come this year... :icon_walk: :icon_pelvic_thrust2: :icon_yes:

It's good that you're taking advantage of gatherings like that. I bet you'll have a great time, so don't be too worried.

Be sure to let us know how it goes!

An update!

So I didn't end up going to the conference, but only because of timing and such.  I did, however, get dinner and go dancing with a couple friends to ring in my 30th year.  Then the following night, I went to dinner with my mother and brother.  Everyone is so so supportive, and they've even been self correcting with pronouns.  Although she hasn't said it, my mom seems proud of me, and didn't skip a beat with me as Victoria.  To round off the weekend, I went out and about on Sunday, ran a couple errands and got lunch.  I was called "Miss" and "Lady," and felt so happy.

If this weekend is any indication of how my 30s are going to be, I am so ready.  Here are some pics from the weekend!!

Glad to hear you had a great time, you look real kewt and happy in your pictures. Supportive friends and family is such a great resource, I'm happy to hear you have both and that they are really making an effort for you! 'Miss' and 'lady' is such a confidence booster isn't it.. My heart still skips a beat every time ;D
