Hey everyone!! I started HRT again on Valentine's Day (yay!!!!!!!!) and honestly already feeling super happy and feel like there's a reason to get up everyday. Never going back this time!!!! Anyways, today I've noticed I feel pretty weak and tired and just kinda....blah. Is this normal? I'm super paranoid about getting Hyperkalemia (even though I've been told numerous times it's a high chance of happening to me.) but still, ya know, the anxiety likes to keep you worried [emoji849][emoji849] I don't remember feeling this way last time I was on HRT, but that was also a year and a half ago. Thanks!!

It makes me feel tired but that works out okay because I used to have insomnia. But now the pills cured it. They're magical o.o

I used to stay up until 7am or even mid-day, but now my cycle's normal! Normal!
I think it's normal for it to make you feel weak and tired.

As MtF when we take antiandrogens and estrogen we have wide fluctuations in our E levels. Plus, antiandrogens are know to male us feel tired and naturally weaker. There hv been many posts on the egfects of antiandrogens.

If you dont hv enough hormones, and as MtF, its estrogen, then we may hv menopause reactions. Incliuding mood fluctuations, restlessness, amd difficulty sleeping. Caused mostly by too low E levels. Have a chat with your endo. Make sure its an endo that knows about TGs.
When we first start our journey the perception and moral values all dramatically change in wonderment. As we evolve further it all becomes normal again but the journey has changed us forever.

That might explain it. I take pure estrogen, not a single molecule of anti-androgens, so maybe that's why I'm fine.

In the first steps of MTF HRT, it is normal to feel sluggish as your body begins to conform to its new hormonal diet.  A lot of change and while maybe not too apparent on the outside, it starts quickly on the inside.  It took about 6 months before I realized that I was no longer feeling the slow that I had from about 3 or 4 weeks in.

You will feel a bit tired yes, and in my case i felt sometimes dizzy and very odd. I was kinda paranoid around February-ish last year about those things and was worried i was becoming a diabetic.. no joke lol. Kadence, may i ask why did you stop and for how long??

Women who don't have enough estrogen tend to feel weak and tired.  Men who don't have enough testosterone tend to feel weak and tired too.

You should get your blood tested to see what your T and E levels are, and work with your doctor to adjust dosages accordingly.  But since you restarted HRT just 4 days ago, you'll need to wait a while for your hormone levels to stabilize before getting tested again (maybe in about 2 months).

Thank you everyone!!! I already feel better (: haha. I remember this happening last time, just don't remember if it was this soon. I go in for blood work to check potassium levels in a month, then checking estrogen levels in 3 months.

Isn't anxiety a fun thing to deal with?! [emoji849][emoji849] I stopped because my boyfriend was putting thoughts into my head that I wasn't really trans, just a crossdresser, and made me feel ashamed that I was on HRT. Eventually we broke up, then got back together, then a year later I'm back on HRT and NOT going back!!!! I was in such a dark place the past couple of months it was terrifying. And yes, he's supportive of it this time around[emoji846] atleast for now. Haha

I also remember getting up at wrong hours of the night whenever i have tried to male. As said, glad you are back!!!

I find I tend to over exert myself often now attempting to do things that used to be super easy for me before. Especially at work. (lost over 20 pounds of muscle mass VERY quickly and VERY early on. I wasnt even dieting either, lost weight, just happened.) I have to supplement a few vitamins here and there, to keep my energy levels where they should be because my eating habits are GARBAGE. I'm assuming if I ever start eating better, this will change.

Fatigue could be due to two things, I think.

Spironolactone, due to a lack of salt and water, dehydration...drink and eat salt when you crave it, listen to your body.

OR/AND

Not enough estrogen to compensate for the lack of T caused by Spiro.

Please discuss this with your doctor if things don't improve very soon. They should know what to do. If not, see another doctor.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience
