So I've been using an IPL device at home for a couple of months now. It's the Remington model.

The good:
My face hair is finally starting to come in thinner and patchier. The grey and blond colored hairs make up a big part of what I see growing which gives me hope that the IPL is working on the dark hairs. However to start seeing real changes I had help from my wife to pluck clear the old hairs from my face. This got rid of the old hairs that just hang out and seems to have made the IPL get better access to the growth points for new hairs. I often get what seems like shedding of really short black hair particles a couple of days after treatment. It is much thinner than before but before I had a very very thick beard growth.

The bad: boy howdy did it hurt! Removing the old growth greatly reduced the pain. Before I had to take breaks between every few flashes and used toothache cream on my face. Now I can use it weekly without needing the numbing cream. Also the resulting few days of sub dermal "sunburn" has been shrunk to about a day. At max power the unit goes through $17 bulbs way faster than was advertised. Seems bulb life is predicted on minimum power level.

I'm hopeful that it's working. Maybe I'll just need to pay for electrolysis for the greys. Lord knows there's enough of those!  ;)

Something else I tried in between was MAJIC shaving cream. BIG WASTE OF TIME. It says to leave on at max 7 minutes. Barely cleared any hairs, did make them softer. I once tried 8 minutes. No better on the hair but my skin stated bleeding in many places. I won't do that again.

So I found this at home RF type device. Claims to be electrolysis permanent and pain free. Has anyone seen this or tried it. "FinallyFree" at
www.nevershaveagain.com.
Seems like if it works they are charging way below market for the device. I'm thinking about trying it. Love not to blow more money on some junk device though.

I have had one of these home electrolysis kits for about 10 years.

It works great for getting rid of an annoying stray hair here and there, but you could never use it to get rid of a whole beard.

I tried "Hair Free Hair Removal Cream" Supposed to permanantly get rid of the hair...
Didn't do jack ->-bleeped-<-aki. 50 dollars wasted on what might as well have been dollar tree knockoff version of nair
