GIC appointment coming up- should I still go?

So after a year of waiting I've finally got my first appointment on the 26th April at Charing Cross; yay :D. I only needed this appointment to get referred for top surgery but I now have the money to go the private route instead of through the NHS. On the one hand I want to go as there may be an extremely small chance I won't have to wait until some time next year to go the NHS route; on the other I don't want to take up appointment time for somebody who may need it more.  :-\

Additionally I currently get my blood tests done at my GPs and then have them looked at when I have my follow up appointments at the private GIC. Is there a way to get them sent in future to charring cross or is that not a service they do? It would make sense if they did but there's no info about it.
