Hello, Im not normally an Internet person/poster but had nowhere else to go :-(
My First post.
Im MTF and have Just started HRT 1 month ago. Have had 3 injections 2 weeks apart and have been taking Spironolactone
I have for the last week noticed a lot of skin flaking. I mean a lot. when i went in for my 3rd injection of Estrogen the doctor wasn't in to ask about it. I asked the nurse and didn't know either way and said wait to ask the doctor when he was back from lunch but I didn't have time to do so.
I just figured wasn't a big deal and the flaking had something to do with the normal part of transitioning and maybe part of my skin just getting softer and thinner etc. from the HRT effect and becoming more feminine???
then i got to thinking last night and did some google searches and now I'm a little worried of possible "Bad" side effects of Spironolactone?. so here i am.
I know the best thing to do is call the gender center and make an appointment on Monday when the Trans Staff and hopefully the doctor is there and not out to lunch?
But for now I hoping somebody on here could put me at ease to what this might be or might be from? at least from their experience? And of course I will still make an appointment with the doctor.
Im aware of dehydration for sure but I've been up on that.
I Would like to add that I've always taken care of my self by diet and exercise. And work out a lot more than the average person and make pretty good food choices and don't drink or smoke. I pretty much only drink water. I do drink tea often and coffee on occasion but mainly tea and usually only in the morning.
I'm in my mid 40's and Im very lean at just under 6 foot and 164-166lbs.
Hope all that helps.
Thanks
In advance
Rachel
