I'm 6'0, 253 lbs and dropping, looking to start HRT, I sure hope that won't negatively affect the transition, I intend to keep losing weight until about 180, but that's a male weight, I suspect it'll be lower as I lose muscle mass as well.

One thing I haven't seen mentioned in this thread is that fat doesn't redistribute. Rather it is the minor fluctuations in weight that changes the fat deposit location.  With transwomen for example, you would lose weight first in typically male regions and put it on in typically female regions.

One thing to note from my personal experience is that I didn't see any changes in fat deposits until I reached typical female hormone levels.

I started at 5 ft 9 and 165. Now 135. Only in the past few months did I see changes in deposit areas (though I have been in a pretty constant state of weight loss since starting).

I haven't really seen any difference in metabolism or ease of weight loss.

I lost about 20 lbs of muscle.  I think maybe half of that was from HRT and the other half was just time and lack of working out.  My benchmark was 27 years ago.

At the moment my workout ignores upper body entirely, focusing on hips, waist, and thighs, but I'll be happy to change it once I'm on HRT and have achieved female levels, hopefully guaranteeing that I can't bulk out my shoulders and pecks inadvertently, lol, more variation in the workout will help me lose more weight.
