Change in funding for UK GIC clients

I heard from a friend last week,  and just confirmed with my electro lady that the funding for facial hair removal has changed and improved. Instead of having either 8 laser OR 8 electro sessions,  the NHS will now fund a mix of methods up to a value of £1575. This means for those suited to laser,  you can now have laser and at least some electro covered; or for those not suited to laser,  you will likely get a larger number of electro sessions. Good news from the NHS; a pleasant change 😁.

Just out of curiosity, with U.K. GIC funding are you limited to which electrologists you can go to, or are you free to choose any provider you want.  Also, is there a waiting period, like a first come first serve sort of thing, or can you book appointments whenever you want to go?

You can use almost any private laser clinic or electrolysist,  as long as they are happy to invoice back to the relevant health authority, which I think most are.

Waiting times obviously vary clinic to clinic... But usually booking a few weeks out for the popular times.

Thanks for the info, I just wondered how smoothly everything goes with U.K. funding.

My electro lady said she just needs a copy of the letter from the GIC greenlighting treatment,  she can then invoice from that. I think it varies though, the NHS isn't known for being streamlined or unbeauracratic!

I was going to get some done as its a long wait for my first GIC appointment but its good to know that the funding's there
