I've been sleeping more lately. I know HRT is like going through a second puberty - could the extra sleep be a result of all the changes my body is making? I'm sure it must take a lot of bodily resources to make those changes.

Did anyone else notice they were sleeping for longer around the year mark on HRT?

I have not been sleeping more because I get myself up on a schedule.  I have been sleeping a whole lot better though.  I think the hormones may play a role in that but I think a bigger factor is the great reduction in stress that came with reducing dysphoria.  Either way, I haven't slept this good consistently since I was about 26 years old.

Yes. Definitely seeing an increased need for sleep. After about 10 moments on hrt (8 of which were low dose) it seems like there are waves of increased sleep, usually corresponding with breast growth spurts. Each spurt seems to last about 2.5 weeks where I am completely exhausted.

Definitely think it's a combo of a second puberty as well as just decreased physical stamina with E and lack of T

10 months and a week here so pretty close the the 1 year mark. I was on sublingual estradiol pills for the first 8 months and I can't say I noticed me sleeping, plenty of tiredness/fatigue though but I did have extremely bad insomnia though. I assume it was due to the spikes caused my sublingual and I hated it as I was lucky to get 4 hours of sleep a night, slept random times during the day, nearly impossible to get a structured sleep schedule, eye bags grew ever worse and I already have naturally dark eye bags from genetics anyway so it was bleh I was on 3x a day for pills so even if I tried taking the last dose earlier (I tried) I've had to essentially take all 3 of my pills within a 12 hour period to avoid the majority of it and that's not very good for adequate spacing when it was 3x daily.

At the 8 month mark I switched to Estradiol Cypionate as I'd been trying to get on Valerate since month 4 (still trying to this day! )as I couldn't take the insomnia and lack of sleep I'm sure had negative effects on maximizing feminization, health etc... and thats to Kay for mentioning Cypionate and my frustration with the Valerate shortage I asked my doctor and switched to that! The first month was pretty brutal though I'm not expert but I assume it was my body getting used/learning how to use the injected estrogen but I was extremely fatigued/lethargic and slept on average 12-16 hours every single day I thought it never would end. Things did even out the 2nd month and to this day no more insomnia, great sleep schedule, easy to fall asleep, still deal with occasionaly couple hours of fatigue/lethargy mostly 30 minutes after i take my morning spiro and finasteride lasting a couple hours but I feel mostly fine with the energy levels. No clue if I'm feminzing any better since the switxh, my nipples are no where near as sensitive compared to the pills but my skin feels a bit softer and god I'm just so happy to be able to sleep again!
