Loos in the UK

Since going 'RLE' I've always used the Ladies. I've not had any noticeable negativity in the UK and recently I've noticed other females chatting to me which is quite a boost.

I'm interested if others feel the same in the UK?

Only been in the ladies loos a handful of times, but never had any problems.

Same here for using the men's. I think in the UK people simply mind their own business and avoud talking to strangers unless necessary.

Indeed. Even the religious ones. It's a shame that religion in the states, especially with ->-bleeped-<- in mind, is full of nuts who are much more willing to read the bible with words that aren't there.

I'm not aware of a single passage which says "show hate towards those who have a different sexual orientation or gender identity to your own", and in fact, these religious nuts are actually by displaying this hate, sinning by judging where judging is not their role. In religion, the only person permitted to judge is God himself and a priest when absolving sins when he says "God forgives you".

These people aren't actually religious. They're just haters following their own bigoted agenda, hiding behind a holy book in order to protect their liberties.

It makes me said because one day, I'd actually love to live in CA or NY, but I am so scared that my proper identity will be vilified and hated by these hateful people.

Religion here in the USA is a long product of all the fundamentalists that left England in the 1600's.

For the most part, I rarely had to speak to anyone else or cared about what anyone else did in the UK.
The same was the case for everyone else. I haven't started on the hormones yet, so my opinion is likely of limited value.

What I do know is that quite a few employers can be extremely discriminative, even when you aren't transgender.

Deuteronomy 22:5 "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God."

It sucks but it's in the bible. I have no clue about the judging others part.

That's the King James Version of an English translation from Medieval Latin from a Greek version from the Hebrew text. Something was lost in translation.

How do I know? The clothing worn by the Hebrew tribes of desert nomads in 1500 BCE wasn't exactly trousers and skirts. In fact, both sexes wore a similar undergarment, roughly a tube with sleeves, and a similar outer garment, a sort of cloak stitched up the side and tied with a cord. Wealthier folks added colors. Tassels with a blue thread were de rigeur for both sexes.

The best translation from the Hebrew done by secular scholars says the verse forbids dressing women/the weak in armor, or hiding warriors among the women/weak. That actually makes sense, but runs against the ideology.

The main discrimination I saw in the UK when people were actually forced to interact with their fellow human beings was against immigrants which shouldn't surprise anyone considering Brexit.
It was very common in restaurants for me to see the staff giving immigrants terrible service, especially ones which don't tip.

I don't think I've ever seen someone transitioning in the UK, or if I did they did a very convincing job for the split second I looked at them.

It was in the English translation it was based on too, although the King James Version was the first thing which came up when quoting an example, and it was easier to read.

Interesting to see that it's mistranslated though, who knows how many people have read that verse?

Yah. Religious translators tend to make choices that confirm their belief system rather than ones coherent with historical facts. Some go so far as to add whole new verses, effectively inserting words on the mouths of the original writers. These are called "interpolations ", which implies that they really were  what the original writer meant hundreds of years before the editorial addition.

This is in the Bible too.  The (self) Righteous ones are extremely selective in what parts of said Bible they think is real.

Very true. It's sometimes handy to ask them why they aren't in Troas searching for Paul's cloak since that's a command given in 2 Timothy 4:13. The question often generates a discussion about context.

Hi I cant think of religion has any thing to do with tg/tv/cd using the ladies or gents. Religion should be kept out of this as it its self has caused so so many wars over time, whos to say if ( god,jesus ) or any other religious being lived or not. None of us realy knows for sure only what we are told and read about.Lets face it all we know comes from a book & over time words change like the 1st & 2nd testerments of the bible.None of us wernt around to verify it 1 way or another. We live our lives how we feel fit not ruled by some words in a book.
I and others may or may be wrong but surly this is up to each one of us not some stupid person suffing a book in your face

Well there are some kinds of toilets to avoid here in the UK, i.e. ones in train stations at night and the like, (you just might find someone shooting up in there...) but in general nobody cares here.

There were a small group of people influenced by the US bathroom bills trying to get the same thing passed here but without any success it would seem.

I agree. I've never had an issue here: not once. In fact girls / ladies sometimes chat to me!

I have to say I went out properly with some work girls on Saturday and I used the ladies all night. I'm totally pre-everything at this point, and admittedly I was a bit pissed from the wine, but I had no issues even if people realised. It was admittedly in the gay village in Manchester but still.

A few girls even talked to me whilst I was waiting.

Was very impressed overall.

By Biblical definition, we are not women or men.  We are eunuchs.  Instead of worrying about Leviticus or Deuteronomy, see Isaiah Chapter 56 instead.
