Hi, all! I'm Kaiden/Kai, and I'm new to this site. I'm an FTM transgender, pre-everything.
I decided to join this site so I can have contact with other people like me, and hopefully find some guidance and help in starting my journey (:

Anyways, I'm 21 and only recently came out to my parents. They don't take it very seriously and think it's just a phase. My mom actually said just the other day that she's "waiting for me to stop dressing like a boy".
I came out when my mom asked me why I always dressed like a boy, to which I responded "I'm not a girl and don't want to be seen as one". Since then, my mom hasn't been supportive and so we haven't spoken much about it (this was about a month ago).

I haven't started seeing a therapist or anything yet, which has been making me very anxious lately. I really just want to start my journey :( just don't know where to start. Regardless, I've been wearing boy clothes for about half a year and cut my hair super short about three months ago. I don't pass as a guy (at all), so I still go by my female name and pronouns in person.

Anyways, that's me! I look forward to meeting some awesome people on this site (:

Welcome to Susan's Place. Other than binding, it sounds like you are doing just about everything you can do without therapy. If you are comfortable without binding, don't feel you need to as mostly it's done to reduce the dysphoria. Feel free to post anywhere on the site but the guys tend to hang out in the FTM section so post targeting those subjects will get better responses there. If there is anything I can help you with, let me know.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

Hey, Kaiden/Kai,

Welcome. You're on a great journey and yeah, I'm sure you can't wait to get started and all. But hey, it's the rest of your life, so every step you take is in the right direction.

And yeah, not a phase. See "rest of your life" above ^^^

Have fun!

Well my mom thinks that too. She said if I mentioned it again she'd make me wear dresses every day. I think it's quite harsh, but I can deal until I move out which is asap. I hope you can move forward with your life soon. Good luck!
