When I came out as trans, most people didn't seem to have any problem with it at all. I was staying with the same woman. Nothing aside from the fact that I wasn't going to be a guy anymore was different. It was a fairytale coming out story.

So fast forward a couple years and those same people that have no problem with the sex change including the surgical aspect, are finding out that I also like guys and they're not handling it well. Switch from male to female? No problem. Switch from lesbian to straight? Oh hell no.

I find this dynamic very strange. I would think the switch from male to female would be the thing they'd get hung up on. Why does the world get so crazy over sexual orientation?

Many people attack things they do not understand. If they think you are interested sexually, they may put up a defensive fence, thinking that will keep them safe.

It is really their problem, not ours. There are many others who have no problem letting us be ourselves.

It's also possible that you are giving of different vibes.  Your friends know you as someone but "interested" in them to... They don't know what.
