Hey everyone.  I live in central nj and I can not find a doctor to give me t. I have called everyone in my network and have had 0 luck.  I have asked if they know of anyone and I always get told no.  I have been looking for 4 months now. Dose anyone have any suggestions?

Do you have a referral from a mental health professional or are you trying to go the informed consent route?

If you have a referral/have done therapy, I would scroll through this page from Rutgers and contact the nearest therapist to you. Ask them who/where they refer their trans patients for HRT. http://lgbt.newark.rutgers.edu/medicalreferral

If you are looking to go the informed consent route, you could call the Mazzoni Center in Philadelphia and try to get on their calendar. I imagine they will probably have a bit of a wait, so I would call there first as long as you're able to get to Philly. You could also try Callen Lorde in NYC, though I'm not sure they're working with anyone outside of NYC. Doesn't hurt to try though.

If traveling is an issue for you, you could call and check with local Planned Parenthood locations. Some PP's do HRT, some don't, so you'd have to call each specific location and ask.

I would also suggest looking into college campus LGBT centers or general LGBT centers in your area. They often times have trans-health resources like doctors list and counseling info. If you are comfortable, you can also post to your area's "queer exchange" facebook group.

Just out of curiosity, how did you go about asking these doctors about HRT? Did you actually go and see them or did you just ask the office managers if it's something the doctor has ever done? It's really not preferable but some doctors will treat you with HRT despite not having done it before.

aadams,

Welcome to the site.

FTMax has some of the best info to help trans guys or folks on the male side of the spectrum. I hope these posts help.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:
