White vinegar can also be used to control odors in clothing however don't combine it with baking soda.

I got a t-shirt at the thrift store and when I brought it back and washed it, I realized it smelled pretty sweaty. I wasn't about to just toss something I bought, so I looked online and tried one of the things I saw. I got some Febreze for fabrics, the "extra strong" stuff or whatever it's called. I soaked the offending areas with it and let it sit for a good 2 days then washed it again. Worked like a charm. Might be worth a try.

If clothes don't seem fresh after washing them then next time they need washed use baking soda.

Thank you, I'll try all of these when I get the chance

I like Old Spice Swagger body wash and Aqua Reef deoderant. Those are the only scents of Old Spice I can find at my local Walmart. I want to try some other Old Spice products and may have to get them online.

I swear by Old Spice for staying good smelling and dry throughout the day. I used it for 12+ years and only switched for health reasons. I switched to an organic deodorant, no large deodorant company is going to be without chemicals.

Anyone used Chassis powder? I hear it is good.

I had a weird experience with sweating after I started T because I'm attracted to men, especially the ones who smell "good" to me--read "compatible." So I loved the way I smelled, but if I stayed home all day and skipped the shower, I would start getting pretty whiff. Not so pleasant. And I was mindful that I didn't want other people to smell me even when I was clean.

I used to have pretty bad skin allergies pre-T, so I was using a bunch of antiperspirant and deodorant products for people with sensitive skin. I tried Dove and Tom's of Maine (deodorant only, I think) and Arm & Hammer and a couple of others. One--Arrid?--was pretty strong, but nothing really worked. When I wore t-shirts under my work shirts, the tees would develop yellow sweat stains in the underarm area. When I didn't wear t-shirts, my sport shirts would get horrendous residue on them. And I smelled WORSE, not better. The chemicals in my sweat just didn't mix with the chemicals in my antiperspirant/deodorant.

I finally figured that if I was going to sweat anyway--and sweating is normal--I might as well try something different. I went online and ordered a Thai crystal. I still had some perspiration, but I didn't smell like anything. In due course, I replaced it with another brand of crystal deodorant, with the same positive results. I'd always thought of these crystals as sort of new-age-y and unreliable, so I was rather shocked to find that they worked for me. I just roll the stick liberally under my arms right after a shower and once again before I put on a work shirt. I get no residue and no odor. (I don't know about sweat stains on my t-shirts because I stopped wearing them--I run extremely hot after starting T.)

I've read information here and there that people are concerned about the safety of these minerals, but what I'd been doing before couldn't have been particularly good for me--and those products weren't even working for me. So now I'm doing crystal...

Lol im just imagining the horror if I ever went on T. I already use Mitchum 48 hour and shower every day
I don't think I quite need to shower fully every day tho tbh I just want to.i have recently started rewearing shirts again. I stopped as a teenager but now as a university student... laundry is expensive and a hassle.

Try taking cold showers. Since I take cold showers I take longer to start sweating.

I sweat pretty bad and have tried natural deo and regular ones. With natural ones I have to reapply at least 3-4 times a day and I just don't have time for it. I also use Old Spice (Bearglove I think it's called) and that works for me. I can apply it and still smell it on me the next day. I just hate using stuff with nasty chemicals and dyes in it but if it works it works I guess :p
¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I dunno.

I personally run cold (and am pre-t)...BUT my mister runs HOT! He sweats all the time if it is over 75 and it's not the prettiest smell.

We have found the Dove Body Wash that is like Extra Fresh or something (it has a green box on it) really helps, and then he uses his shampoo on his chest and armpits (its a natural peppermint one with tea tree, lemon, and orange essential oils added in). For deodorant he uses Degree MotionSense 48hr stick in a subtle scent, along with the spray throughout the day. If he doesn't do this every morning he gets nasty... like not just weird and musty but acidic, musty and just yuck... I can't describe it but it's bad and it lingers..

I was his clothes with about a cup of white vinegar added (we buy large things from Sams Club) and that really helps to remove the smell.
If it's his work clothes that he's sweated on in the summer I often have to wash them twice, on the rare occasion the service at work isn't doing things right.

I am honestly hoping that I will start to run warmer once we decide everyone (me and him) are ready for that step. I dread the laundry changes and need to shower every day (my body runs so cool I don't need to shower more than every other day) because of smell.... but am excited I might not be cold all the time!!!

Found what works the best.

Mitchum Ultimate (the one with the "oxygen" symbol on the front) soft solid deodorant, "48hr". Not the gel or the roll on, but the white soft solid stuff.

Lasts all day, and the next, there is zero crotch smell if you use it there. Not exactly cheap but it is awesome. The women's one smells like sherbet but isn't like a perfume-ish smell, the men's one smells like dude deodorant but isn't overpowering.

Recommended if that 'dude smell' was getting on your nerves.

Mitchum is definitely top notch.
I WAS using the clear gel one when slugging it in the trenches in heavy construction. It held up.

Its interesting, I don't smell so much when I sweat. The smell gets bad if I I don't shower for a day or more and its pretty contained to my pits but if I get nervous or excited its like someone turned on the faucets. I can often times feel the sweat dripping down my sides. It is completely disgusting and am thinking of switching back to an anti-perspirant for this reason alone. My all natural Everyman Jack is doing great if I apply it 2 or 3 times a day but it doesn't keep me dry at all.

I work in hot areas, but I'm not outside for long. I teach in classrooms that are usually air-conditioned. But my car's air conditioning wasn't working for most of last year, so that was unpleasant. I finally got the air compressor replaced in December. But through all of last year, the crystal deodorant held up pretty well, although I had to be really diligent about powdering my crotch because that was the worst. My seats are leather, and I run hot (especially in the crotch), and the cab was warm...I'm glad someone (can't remember who now) told me about the powder he uses. It was a real lifesaver.

Baby powder (talcum powder) is essentially powdered cancer. I wouldn't use it anywhere it could so easily be absorbed into the body. Not making any assumptions about hygiene, diet, or wardrobe, I could suggest perhaps looser, more breathable, boxer shorts? It's just one of those things, mate.

For my crotch, I use a foot powder that someone here told me about. It works quite well. Unfortunately, it IS talcum with some chemicals added in, so I have been using it only during the very warm months, and I had picked up a few non-talcum alternatives to try out in the spring. But when my house caught fire a couple of months ago, I had to toss them before I'd had a chance to use them. (I had to junk my entire medicine cabinet and most of the stuff on the counter.)

I should hunt down those alternatives the next time I'm at Target or a good drugstore.

FWIW, different clothing choices do not help me to stop sweating down there in warm weather. I can be walking around my apartment in baggy shorts and nothing else, and my crotch will sweat. Yccch.
