Hello all,

Has anyone lost Strength after starting HRT, but gained in return a noticeable amount of flexibility? By noticeable I mean like suddenly being able to touch your palms on the floor and face to your knees after bending over at the waist... or being able to do the front or side splits? Full Lotus with full bend over forward?  Fully opened Straddle while Bending over forward? Both Heels able to touch the back of the head? No Yoga poses some of those are more about endurance, strength, and balancing. I just mean flat out flexibility! Kind of like contortion :).

Any noticeable flexibility gains?

Yes, and yes.  After just 6 months HRT quite a reduction in muscle mass.  My weight has not changed at all but I am definitely less strong with noticeably thinner arms, even a less square jaw line as facial muscles have softened.  And I am more flexible - fastening a bra strap is easy, can fold arms almost any which way now.  I haven't noticed any loss of lower body strength (walking, running) but upper body strength is much less already.

However I'm not gonna try all those wild moves you're describing - I am 3 weeks post-op from GCS.  That might break my warranty.
Assigned male at birth 1963.  Decided I wanted to be a girl in 1971.  Laser 2014-16, electrolysis 2015-17, HRT 7/2017, GCS 1/2018, VFS 3/2018, FFS 5/2018, Labiaplasty & BA 7/2018.

I would love to become more flexible! It's kept me from doing yoga. I was a distance runner for years and have overdeveloped leg muscles in odd places. Good news reading this, Asakawa :)

I have heard about this from someone else, that as your muscles change you do indeed get more flexible.  I am pre-hrt at the moment and am working on gaining back some flexibility that I had when I was younger and it is very difficult.  I hope that I get some flexibility after awhile on hrt.

Bra straps, HAH, I can UNDO them, but I can't fasten them from behind.  I suppose like most things with transision, YMMV.

I've been concentrating on stretches and flexibility since starting my diet. If HRT improves it for me .. YAY!  :)
I left the door open, only a few came through. such is my life.

I got weaker at first for about two years but now I'm stronger than before I started HRT.  My flexibility hasn't really changed but I was already fairly flexible to begin with.

I was thinking more like lower body flexibility rather than top flexibility since I guess there is always more muscle on the legs than the arms :). I tend to be pretty flexible on the arms. So far it doesn't really sound like there are some noticeable gains in flexibility. except for Kendra's upper body ;).

You have to be flexible to get some of those sport bras on and off.

I had to chuckle... you are absolutely correct.  It sometimes seems that I should have to dislocate my shoulder to get it off... LOL
