Hi,

I have a tentative date of September 7th scheduled for my breast augmentation surgery. I'm starting to think that maybe I'm going about preparing for the surgery in the wrong way. After my impromptu consultation, during a follow-up appointment for labiaplasty with Dr. Jess Ting , I did a lot more research on the surgery and came up with several important questions and issues. For example, I want to find out if he recommends placing the implants in the submuscular or subglandular areas of my chest. Two days ago, I learned that many surgeons recommend placing the implants in the submuscular regions of women who are thin build. I am 5'9, and 112 lbs. I wear a 36a bra and have been on HRT since November 2014. Recently, I also learned that implants can have high, medium, and low profiles. I want to be a natural looking 36c. It has come to my attention from doing research online that the implant sizers I tried on at Dr. Ting's were most likely saline filled, and I'm interested in silicone implants.

I have lots of time to get my questions and matters addressed.
Sincerely,

Caitlyn

There are many internet sites dedicated to breast implants. One of the oldest and largest sites with pictures and a forum is "implantinfo dot com". There is a lot of good information on this site.

I would definitely heavily research it and then go see if what you want meshes with what your surgeon wants and thinks is idea. For example, in my own case I knew I wanted silicone implants done over the muscle because they tend to give more cleavage and look a bit more natural, in my opinion, as you age. The plastic surgeon I chose, who does a lot of trans-specific surgery, agreed with me and together we picked out a range of sizes that might work. There are a lot of details and pluses and minuses to each technique, though personally I would advise staying away from saline as I think they look and feel less natural, especially if you have small breasts. My surgery is coming up in June, so I'll let you know how my choices work out.
