Gee.  Wasn't it just last summer at the GOP Convention in Cleveland, Ohio when Trump promised,

"As your president, I will do everything in my power to protect our LGBTQ citizens from the violence and oppression."

Everybody, please don't overlook this!

This appointee, Roger Severino, is a hardened anti-trans ideologue, with a long history of anti-LGBT and specifically anti-trans advocacy.  Here's an example of his thoughts in a commentary he wrote recently (three months ago!!) opposing the Obama administration policy on LGBT issues and singling out North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory for praise for enacting and defending anti-trans Hate Bill 2:

Court Should Reject Obama's Radical Social Experiment

". . . Twenty-four states and governors have already sued the administration for attempting to dictate their state's bathroom and shower policies without legal authority. North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory deserves tremendous credit for leading this effort and for standing against the progressive bullies in the media, big business and the federal government.

"McCrory knows that subjective and unverifiable gender identity policies threaten the safety and privacy of women and girls in intimate facilities because they open the door to abuse by non-transgender people."

Everyone:  Please understand that the above is no longer just the personal opinion of a conservative commentator in a right-wing think tank.  Trump has now appointed this man to manage federal civil rights policy on matters involving your health care.  Specifically, Severino's writings have explicitly defended the "right" of medical practitioners and institutions to deny care to gay and trans people based on "religious" objections.  This may soon make a difference in whether you get medical care . . . or not.

Quote"The radical left is using government power to coerce everyone, including children, into pledging allegiance to a radical new gender ideology over and above their right to privacy, safety, and religious freedom."

That is a quote by the one who will now defend our civil rights.
It's always religious freedom with these special snowflakes.  They seek to subvert the US Constitution and then call themselves patriots.  Newspeak!

The Trump administration is becoming a bigger disaster by the day.  How could Americans be suckered into supporting such a monstrosity???  Didn't they notice all his blatant lies that changed from one day to the next???  His total disregard for law???

Right now, I'm very glad I'm not American.

You guys have to get the religious wrong out of the government.  By forcing their delusions on everyone, they are going to cause a lot of damage!!!

I'm a 65 year old male who has been thinking about SRS for many years.  I also was a  full cross dresser for a few years.  I wear a bra, pantyhose and nail polish daily because it just feels right.

Soon?  Even under Obama I was personally denied service at my goverment-supported Medicaid clinic based solely on religiously-motivated objections, even when they had records in my chart of treating me for gender dysphoria-related depression and suicidal ideation.   Essentially they told me to pound sand, leaving me to the tender mercies the marketplace. It's happening now. Every day.

This just gives the bigots more cover.   Elections have consequences.

I was denied service by a local psychologist.  Now I have to drive over three hours round trip just for counseling.  So I get very little.

Federal employees sympathetic to Trump and Republicans feel emboldened to deny services to people they don't like.  Immigration officials are enforcing the letter of the law and those who can deny medical services, or slow them down, are self-righteously doing so.  The good news is the number of new donors to the Democratic Party is skyrocketing as is the number of good, qualified people stepping forward saying they will run against Republicans. . .There's hope for us . . .
