My face is very sensitive and I need to find something to use to be clean shaven as much as possible. I tried to use the Nair like stuff for men's faces and Nair and the Veet and it doesn't work. Shaving everyday or every other causes me to have red irritated skin. What recommendations do you all have? I have to wait a while before I have enough saved up for laser or electrolysis because most of my money is for wardrobe building right now as I am almost fulltime and need more clothes to be fulltime everywhere but work(work comes later after have been on HRT and my hair is long enough IMO.

I use Alba Botanica creme shave. It works well.

My best advice would be to look at your razor. It'll make a huge difference. Using an actual razor with a sharp blade, not a drugstore disposable/gimmick razor like Bic or Gillette etc... Try "The Art of Shaving" website. Barbershop quality razors will give you better results with less irritation.

Nair and Veet chemical hair removal creams should be avoided. They don't work anyway.

Merkur makes a very good razor. A heavier razor helps when learning. Safety Razors and straight blade Razors will give the the best shave, in my opinion.

A good straight razor shave will have no razor burn and will keep me smooth for a day. Where as a Mach3, Mach4, Bic etc will show stubble in a couple of hours and my face will be red. If I use a Mach3 I will get 3 to 5 days out of a blade then I have to toss it because it's dull and that's where my razor burn comes from.

If you do still have razor burn, red or orange lipstick under your foundation will get rid of the shadow.

For people with sensitive skin, skin care is a major issue as sensitive skin can have various problems like redness, rashes, skin irritation and many more. One of my friend was facing the problems for sensitive skin, I recommended have allergy test and also suggested to use the skin products containing harmful elements like paraben. I also suggested to discover this website, where one can find the skin care products which are paraben and do not harm the skin.

I have hypersensitive skin and I bruise if you just look at me. I am also highly sensitive to the pain of Electrolysis but find Laser quite tolerable.

I would suggest that it may be the a worthwhile investment to get some treatment done now. I am fulltime for only about a month and prior to this it was difficult enough trying to deal with hair removal prep sessions. When I go back into it again next month I need to grow out for 6 days so my electrologist can work with it. That might mean 6 days of hairy makeup...which for me is really unpleasant.

The best I can offer is use a high quality gel...not foam, high quality blades but only go with the grain of the beard, going side ways and the opposite way can be what causes the irritation....I don't blade shave very often as it cuts my skin up way too much so I tend to use an electric one, which if I am not careful I can scrape area's like my jawline and chin but will do a good enough job to prevent "hairy Makeup"

Hope some of that helps

I use a sensitive skin jel and a 4 blade razor that you change the head on so sort of disposable. I find shaving twice a day stops tugging  and soreness , that's followed by Nivia every day face cream and my skin is so soft now.

Many of the after shave lotion contain alcohol, they only tend to irritate and dry the skin, as well as cause damage to it. Rather than using after shave lotion, one can use the moisturizer from the above mentioned site to avoid irritation of skin.

I use a good shaving oil- shave secret. The oil creates the slickest surface I've ever shaved on. Helpful for sensitive skin as you don't have to press very hard, and when you do (upper lip for me) the blade slides smoothly, rather than getting caught on whiskers.

I've always gotten my closest shaves with this oil. Keeps away the 5 o'clock shadow until the next morning.

The other benefit is the oil is clear, which makes it extremely easy to see where the hair is, and if you need another pass.

If the skin starts drying, just splash some warm water on it, reactivates the oil.

The mineral oil does not clog your pores, and leaves the face moisturized rather than dry and chapped.

Other stuff that helps is making sure you have a clean razor.

I use the razorpit. It's advertised to "sharpen" your blade, but in reality it just cleans it. Getting off any residue, and stuck hairs. I've found that it extends my razor's "useful life" by 30-40% or so.

I have been using Gilette Venus Embrace Sensitive (mint green) for both body and face.  I find it works better than any other razor I've tried for men or women.  It feels good not to have to buy a razor that says "for men" on it.  For my face, I have been using coconut oil and soap instead of shaving cream or gel.  I recommend going against the hairs, contrary to what most people say.  After shaving with the Venus, I switch to a BIC disposable single blade razor to touch up any spots that weren't covered by the first run.  I do this every single day after showering.  For after shave, I have been using Pacific Caffeinated After Shave.  This is the best solution I have for now, and it doesn't misgender me either.
