Hello! About 10 months and 10 days on HRT (Estrogen, AA etc...) here, funny enough I honestly can't remember what they looked like before starting HRT you think living with them for 24.5 years would outweight 10 months but I forgot a lot of things of how my body looked/felt pre-hrt anyway in that time I''ve developed pretty large very puffy nipples 90% of the time (Just ever so slightly smaller then a half dollar coin which I hope most of you have knowledge of >_<) The way I understand the breast growth process is that puffy nipples are usually from growing breasts/breast buds and more mature breasts/nipples are usually more erect. The question I have is the other 10% when my nipples are erect they don't seem traditionally female in apparance, they shrink to about a little smaller then a nickel, are oval shape not round and are on a 45 degree diagonal slant. I know every womans body is different but is this a normal occurrence for anyone else? I'mnot really worried as I know it can take up to 5+ years fort hem to fully develop and 10 months is nothing but I was curious if my experience is out of the ordinary thanks!

At the two plus year mark id say my aerolas and my nipples are well developed and they are more consistently "solid" and erect, similar to any cis women. I'd like my areolas to be a bit darker, but that it nitpicking i think.

Progesterone added at slightly over the year mark seemed to be a factor in additional nipple maturation for me. Not to say, that estrogen alone did not change them, because it did.

Some interesting facts gleaned from Wikipedia:

The diameter of a US half dollar coin is 1.205" (30.61 mm) and the diameter of a US nickel is .807" (21.21 mm)

The average diameter of a male areola is 1.1" (28 mm) and the average diameter of a "sexually mature" woman is 1.5" (38.1 mm) but can be 4" (100 mm) or more. Also noted, "Human areolae are mostly circular in shape, but many women and some men have areolae that are noticeably elliptical."

Concerning the nipple itself, "The average projection and size of human female nipples is slightly more than 3/8 of an inch (10mm)." I didn't see anything on the average male nipple.

Before I started HT, I measured my areola and recorded 1.25" (31.75 mm). I noticed that the Montgomery's glands (the small bumps on the areola that look like goose bumps) were usually somewhat contracted. I'd guess there's probably 25 - 30 visible. Since starting HT, I often see my areola are much smoother, less bumps, and that allows them to be a little larger in diameter, about 1.5" (38.1 mm). It's funny, if I look at them in the mirror for a little bit, the Montgomery's glands start contracting and the areola shrink some because of it. lol

All the best,

I don't know who Montgomery was, but he has a pretty cool feature named after him.  :)

Do you mean your areolae are the size of half dollars coins?
It sounds like you've had some pretty aggressive breast growth in 10 months. Are you comfortable sharing what your cup size is?

I've found that my own puffiness is quite dependent on temperature. Definitely more perky when cold.

At about 10 months of hrt myself I have noticed the enlargement of the areola and the flattening of the Montgomery glands. I would say that my nipples themselves seem to fluctuate between erect and mostly recessed based both on growth and arousal. Those periods where my breasts are really tender (2-3 weeks at a time) the nipples are erect almost all the time. The breasts then feel mostly normal for around 10 days, nipples appear recessed and then repeat.

I would say that I have pretty good breast buds and my bra size is currently a 34-B.

At this point shape is still mostly cone, but some rounding/filling out towards the arm pits along with a noticeable outward pointing of the nipples.
