Well, I plan to cook this year (a few people will be helping me though), and we are going to spend it here at my place.  My parents will be here as well as my sisters and my brothers, Chris, my cousin her husband and her two children, a friend from work (who couldn't get any plane tickets to go and see her family in Minnesota) and of course, my four cats.  Wow, we are going to have a full house here but it is only once a year that we get to spend these holidays with those we love so it doesn't mater how many people come and visit.  What are your Thanksgiving plans?

For those of you who don't know what Thanksgiving is (you may not be from the US):

That all sounds just lovely, Tink.

We're getting together with my wife's family at her sister's house. I love it, as I never really had a big family to enjoy when growing up. They fight, yell, chase the grandkids around... I get to hold the babies and get spit up on... and I adore every second of it ;)

This will be probably the first time in a decade I haven't seen MY parents for Thanksgiving though. Oh well, whatcha gonna do?

I'll be spending most of my morning in the kitchen with my mom preparing our Thanksgiving meal (we eat around 1 or 2pm).  My aunt, uncle, five year old cousin and my grandma will be coming around eleven.  I'll probably be spending my time when I'm not entirely needed in the kitchen and afterwards playing with my cousin and talking with my uncle about nerd stuff and my aunt about girly stuff  :P  Then we will consume mass quantities of food in a somewhat glorious fashion, then collapse on the living room furniture and watch football (even though I don't like to watch it, I like to spend time with my family) until my cousin's attention span runs out and he wants to go home.  After that, more pretending to be interested in football and chatting with my parents during commercials until that is over.  Then I will sleep a whooooooooooooole lot.

We dont celebrate Thanksgiving in France either.  But if you are an ex-pat living in France or will visit during that time, there are many places you can go like: The Thanksgiving American Market in Paris where you can get your holiday food and decorations.  Because of some American friends that came to France a few years ago, I know that there is also the Stars n Bars in Monaco that  holds a Thanksgiving and The American Club of the Riviera down the south of France.  :)

I'm working, the money is good and its too expensive and too time consuming to go home twice this time of year.  I'm celebrating Thanksgiving next Sunday with a friend of mine, outside of my family, I'm most thankful for him, so who else would I want to spend it with?

My family does Christmas, and my cousins do Thanksgiving.  So we're going to their house around 2pm or so...I can't remember if the National Dog Show is Thanksgiving morning or Christmas morning...if it's Thanksgiving morning I'll be watching that.

Wednesday night Serra and I are going to a co-workers house for "taco night", and i'll be bringing my Wii with.  Prob'ly get a bit tipsy there too...

I already had thanksgiving (I'm in Canada). I went to my friend A's house and she made me a wonderful dinner. It was really nice of her. I had a good time with her -- we're basically sisters. We started transitioning at the same time and want to plan our SRS's at or around the same time. She's my trans-sister.

Then, I went with another friend (B) to some new friends she met recently (C) -- it was a bad experience. Long story short, I was very lucky that I brought A with me because I got drugged (I think something was in my drink), and was blanking out and they were trying to kick A and B out because they wanted to tie me up, rape me, and film it (yeah, they actually said that, and they were all over me when I was out trying to kiss me and do stuff to me, so it was a bit of a fight going on, I was out of it, however). So, long story short, it was very scary and I'm luck that I got out okay. This is the second time in my life that I've been drugged, and the third time someone has tried to rape me. I don't actually remember much of that night.

So, yeah, not so trusting of people any more. B didn't know these people well and they were all nice, etc when B met one of them (she didn't know the other two people there). And there home, owned by some guy, was huge and really nice. So, something creepy was going on. B doesn't talk to C anymore, however, which is good. I of course, don't talk to C people again.

... I live a crazy life for some reason. But I'm very glad that I've always had good friends around to watch over me and protect me.

But on a happy note, happy thnxgiving USA! I hope that you have a wonderful thnxgiving and be safe.

I am going to my parents in Kansas where I'll fly out Tuesday and come home Sunday. On Thanksgiving I'll help my Mom with the shopping in the morning, then help prepare the food. I love the smell of the food throughout the day and how the windows steam up because of all the heat in the kitchen and the cold outside. I guess that only happens in a small house like we grew up in. I'm really looking forward to this trip :)

An island unto ourselves we're planning a couple of days getaway on our favorite hideout St Johns, U.S. Virgin islands . . .
You mean you could get a flight?  Good luck getting back.  LOL

I'm spending Thanksgiving with family (about 14 of us) including the two grandkids.

I dislike holidays, but I will probably end up at my daughters house.  Find a corner to hide in and keep to myself.

Thanksgiving plans have a way of coming apart sometimes.

Spouse and I were going to go out to a restaurant, the first time ever on Thanksgiving for either of us, and have a nice quiet dinner for just the two of us.  Her family is unwelcoming and we don't have the resources to visit mine. :(

We had an unexpected death in the family though, just last Friday, so methinks we'll be staying home and doing nothing.  Spouse has taken it pretty hard.  I'll gage her mood and if she's up to it I'll cook something up and do it at home by ourselves.

Maybe, if it's warm enough, I'll BBQ some turkey legs for her!

hugs & smiles & Holiday Greetings,

So I learned taht my older gay brother will be coming home to-morrow, and maybe for Thanksgiving too!  I miss him so, and it'll be fun talking with him about my paper and stuff, as he has LOTS of TG friends from when he lived in the Castro in San Francisco :)
