How do I pass better? [21, MtF, pre-HRT or anything else]

Hey everyone,
New forum member, long-term lurker, first time poster.
I'm 21 and considering starting HRT/transitioning next month or the most after, but I'm really anxious about not being able to pass. I'm small in some ways (6.4' wrist, 33 inch chest, 31 inch underbust, 28-29 inch waist) but larger-ish in others (long but fairly skinny hands, 5'11 tall).

I've been practicing with makeup to kind of assuage my anxiety, but I sometimes feel maybe I could pass in the near future or maybe I won't ever. What do you guys think? https://i.redd.it/45t2jxbwu13z.jpg

This is me wearing a wig and crossdressed, and wearing moderate makeup (foundation/concealer, eye shadow, mascara (albeit poorly), lip gloss and lip stick). I'm still not very good at makeup, so be brutal on your thoughts and especially things I can do to look better/more feminine.

Thank you! :)

You are still young, i don't think you will have trouble passing after a little while on hormones. Your face will look softer after a few months on HRT but your makeup skills are pretty good lol what are you talking about. Are you gonna do hormones a little before going full time? Either way i am sure you will be fine. Btw how long is your natural hair?

Hey! My natural hair is fairly long as a guy, but not nearly shoulder-length like the wig. It's also extremely curly. Here's a photo of me in boy mode (no makeup, haven't shaved) haha:

I'm actually looking to get my hair flattened and dyed with a blonde ombre or just highlights. It would pass my ears most likely if it was flat.

Yeah i don't think you will face any issues when it comes to 'passing'. Your hair will grow out and your face will become softer. Yeah i've always wanted to try an ombre style, atm it's just black lol but i have issues allowing anyone touching my eyebrows or my hair. Looks like you have a good hairline so you may not deal with a receding hair line like i did lol I had to get hair transplants haha. Will you go full time straight away or let hormones work a little and then go full time? I ended up going full time before hormones but had already grown my hair out to at least shoulder length. If i had to do it again i would most likely get laser therapy/electrolysis done and allow hrt to work while doing that and then go full time but yeah that's just me lol  ;D

I probably would go on HRT for a while and evaluate if I need certain things like voice surgery/trach shave before going full time. Mentally I feel like super bulky and manly. :(

5'11" is still in the acceptable range for a tall Sally. Maria Sharapova is 6'

Clothes and makeup can do only so much. If transition is for you, then Hormone Therapy is going to do marvelous things to your appearance. Starting out young will make transition much easier for you.

Accept yourself and take care.
