Hi, Sara!

It's a long hard road we live trying to be what others want us to be, and hiding ourselves away.  I had a similar experience before coming out at the ripe old age of 62.  The good news is that life can get better.

We have lots of folks here with similar experiences, and who have found various ways to move forward with their lives.  This is a good place to need kindred souls, gather advice, and ask questions.

I hope you feel welcome here.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to take a look, please take a moment to go through them.

Once again, welcome to Susan's. Look around, ask questions and join in.
Earth my body, water my blood, air my breath and fire my spirit.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.

Hi Sara, welcome to Susan's Place! I'm from Boston. Congratulations on your recent coming out. Right, wrong, or indifferent, you don't have to come out to her again! We have an addiction forum in the Health section if you want to share or help others with their battles. I'm a recovering alcoholic. Looking forward to seeing you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Hi Sara,

I'm Jeanette, I have had gender issues all my life and until recently I thought I was just a life long crossdresser. I recently discovered the what I was dealing with was called gender dysphoria and it went well beyond crossdressing. I am now calling myself a trans woman and have started HRT.
I am also 64yro and a self appointed greeter here. I would like you give you an unofficial welcome to Susan's Place.

Welcome Sara (( Hug )) come in, come in and make yourself at home. Here have a chair, This ones a good one well broke in already. No, no Devlyn won't mind at all. There's coffee on the counter along with hot water for tea or soda in the fridge and of course there tap water, (ice cubes in the freezer) Sorry no alcohol. A lot of us have had some bad run ins with it if you know what I mean, Unfortunately some of us have had problems with drugs too among other things not so good for people like us going through some serious life issues. It's hard to try to hide this stuff and try to go it alone,
That one of the reason we congregate here at Susan's. Here we do not have to go it alone. Here we help each other with those living issues and support one another. Her we share what is going on with us and what is bothering us. Here we are family.

So come on it Sara, Welcome, welcome home,

Hugs,
   Jeanette
