AliyahL

Hello everyone,

I've been reading posts here for a while, and I've finally worked up the courage to post. My name is Aliyah and I live in Vermont. I started transitioning in November 2015 and I've been living full time since October 2016. I've had my name and gender legally changed and I'll be getting my new drivers license and passport this week; I'm so excited to finally have IDs and legal documents that match who I really am. If everything goes well, I'll be having gender confirmation surgery later this year or next year. I'm married to a wonderful man; we'll be celebrating our 17th anniversary in July. We plan to start a family within the next two to three years. In addition to adopting a baby, we want to adopt two or three more children from the foster care system. I'm Jewish, I love to read, I love music (anything except bluegrass), and I'm a total Star Wars nerd. (Seriously, I love Star Wars.) I look forward to chatting here and getting to know everyone. Thanks for reading!

Welcome to Susan's.

Congratulations on the change is documentation.  That's my next step.  Probably late this summer.

I used to spend a lot of time just out side of Burlington in the summer and my parents are from Middlebury.  I LOVE Vermont.

Thank you, Denise! We live in Burlington, but we're thinking of possibly moving to Shelburne or Stowe. Middlebury is a beautiful town; I've spent quite a bit of time there.

Congratulations on getting your documentation changed later this summer. Getting mine has done a lot to improve my anxiety; it's like a huge weight has been lifted from me.
