Hi all,

For this forum, you can call me Betty. I'm 23 years old and have struggled with gender dysphoria all of my life. Today, I saw counselor for the first time ever. Until this moment, I've felt like two people: a woman and a man justifying staying the same. But I think I am about ready to reconcile that by pursuing transition.

Great to hear you saw a therapist! No need to rush, take baby steps and take the time to understand yourself, needs and desires. I have been seeing a therapist for about a year and am still learning and understanding what is a big inner conflict for me. I wish you well

Hi, Betty!

Welcome to Susan's Place.  You've taken a big step in seeing a counselor.  I hope that will help you find the right path to resolve your dysphoria.

You will find many others here, each following their own path through life, and willing to both listen and share. I hope this can help you.

I hope you feel welcome here.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to take a look, please take a moment to go through them.

My personal transition path included medical changes.  The path others take may require no medical intervention, or different care.  We each find our own path. I provide these dates for the curious.
