ok, so... i recently, very recently found out i might identify as adrogyne as my gender but wondering if i'm intersex has been on mind for a whole year now. i can't really go to a professional because i don't have the resources to (i'm poor, no transportation, etc.) and i'm too afraid, anyways.

but i'm dfab and i got my period when i was 11 years old but it was never a lot; i usually get two days of flow and then just spotting for the next two days and sometimes i can go many months without getting my period. i also have a lot of body hair-- this is what prompted me to question if i'm intersex. i have very low self esteem because of it and i found identifying as intersex helped me with that. i have had thick body hair for as long as i can remember, i remember one time in 2nd grade a boy came up to me and said we had the same amount of hair and called me a 'gorilla'. i guess what i mean to say is that it is really heavy and thick and not your usual peach fuzz, and its all over my body and face. i also have broader shoulders and barely any chest but my voice isn't deep and my clitoris isn't that enlarged. from what i read, it could be hyperandrogenism since along with excessive body hair and menstrual irregularities, i also have seborrhea, i'm prone to acne and i have a high libido. i don't know if it's important to mention but: at 13, when i started working out more often, i developed abs and muscular arms very quickly. and my family has a long history of excessive hair in females, and one of my aunts has thyroid, excessive weight gain and infertility issues.

hopefully, when i'm able to i can get a hormonal check-up but for now, i need some kind of opinion to see if its valid if i identify as intersex (not as my gender, obviously, but more like another identity of me.)

Welcome to Susan's Place. The label transgender appears to apply to you however intersex is a specific medical diagnosis and with the little you have provided so far, it's not clear. The irregular periods and other issues suggest that you might have a hight testosterone level and that is easy and inexpensive to add to a routine blood test. As you have irregular periods, you should discuss that with your doctor so it can be diagnosed. If you have medical insurance, it possible that much of this testing would be covered by insurance.

I have a friend who has the same symptoms as you, including the body hair.  That friend's issue has been diagnosed as "polycystic ovarian syndrome" and it isn't an intersex condition.  You should rule that out with an OBGYN before assuming it to be intersex.  I doubt that's a very expensive thing to determine.  Best of luck.
