Sorry this post should be in transgender talk.
So last week, I handed in my forms for a legal name change.
So today I went to my drug store, the one I went to in Sept 2016-Dec2016, for my prescription and I asked the pharmacists assistant for my 2016 receipts so I can file taxes,  So I showed the assistant my health card,  and she told me she doesn't have my name on file.  So I asked again have you tried (......name) my middle name. They told me they don't go by name they go by birthday. So I was like........how does one of biggest drug store in Canada not have my name.....Unless one possible reason is I transferred my old history to my new store..

Identity theft doesn't seem to make sense for something like this. If they can't find you on file and you have used their store/company before, then you should see if you can find any old prescription paperwork from them that might have some sort of customer i.d. number. Is it possible something got deleted in their system due to your name change? If your identity were stolen, no one would erase your information from a store system. You'd have to be worried about your bank accounts being cleaned out and credit cards being run up. If you were dealing with a pharmacy regarding identity theft, I suppose the only thing you would have to be worried about would be the very unlikely scenario of someone using up your prescription refills, but I've never heard of anything like that actually happening, especially for HRT meds!
Up and away and off I go to lose my mind and find my soul.

Hmm not sure,  because where I live,  it takes a few weeks to mail the certificate to me and once I have the certificate,  I can go to the gov office and change my health card drivers licence and what not.  I would have to physically go to the office and show them my new name certificate. To get a new card.  So..... hmmm

Rambler is right, This has nothing to do with identity theft. What you have is a records problem with the store. Gather your documentation of past transactions and take it to the manger of the store so you can get it resolved.

Alright,  luckily I still have a few slips and receipts from that store,  just kinda odd that's all.
